Disclosed herein are antimicrobial compositions and methods of producing an antimicrobial effect in which a citrus extract such as Biosecur® is used in combination with benzyl alcohol and one or more additional agent selected from the group consisting of lauroyl arginate/ glyceryl laurate and essential oils or constituents thereof such as galangal oil, thyme oil, thymol, cinnamon leaf oil, cinnamon bark oil, lemongrass oil, orange oil, pine oil, cedarwood oil, curry leaf oil, and rosemary oil. These compositions may be used as natural preservatives for personal care products, foods, beverages, and as topical or surface disinfectants.

본 발명은 커피찌꺼기 추출액, 난황유 및 EM활성액을 유효성분으로 포함하는 해충 방제용 조성물을 제공한다. 본 발명의 해충 방제용 조성물은 쓰레기로 버려지는 커피찌꺼기를 활용하므로 제조단가가 거의 들지 않는 장점이 있으며, 유효성분인 커피, 계란, 식용유는 사람이 먹을 수 있는 기호품 또는 식품으로서 인체 독성에 관련된 문제가 거의 없다. 또한 EM활성액은 이미 친환경 분야에서 널리 이용되고 있으므로 인체에 무해하면서도 농작물에 해를 끼치는 해충을 접근하지 못하도록 한다.

A method for making an extract of a plant of the genus Helichrysum in Jojoba oil or wax, in which a step is provided of joining the Helichrysum, preferably the upper parts of the plant, with a Jojoba wax having an acid number higher than 0.3, in particular higher than 0.32, more in particular higher than 0.36. Such method makes it possible to obtain an extract with a high flavonoid content useful for stimulating the keratinocytes of the epidermis, characterised by a content of Chrysin higher than 80 mg/kg of fatty acids having 20 carbon atoms with one unsaturation, in particular higher than 84 mg/kg, more in particular, higher than 104 mg/kg and/or makes it possible to obtain an extract with a low contained of allergens, characterised by a ratio between the amounts of Limonene and β- Selinene lower than 0.4, in particular lower than 0.08, more in particular, lower than 0.06. The step of joining is preferably obtained by a dynamic process, for example by percolation or by centrifugation. A medical or cosmetic composition comprising such an extract for treating or preventing a disease and/or a condition that requires a stimulation of cell proliferation of keratinocytes, among which wounds, burns, skin ulcers, scars, skin aging, stretch marks, wrinkles and others. A process for extracting vitamins and minerals from a first plant matter(s) is disclosed wherein the said first plant matter(s) is treated with acidic matter followed by extraction with water. Said treatment converts the water-insoluble vitamins and minerals into water-soluble forms leading to a more comprehensive extraction with better yields of the plant constituents. Suitable selection of the first and second plant matter(s) and their proportions yields an extract that is a ready-made formulation of the desired vitamins and minerals in RDA quantities. Other advantages are reduced processing times and processing steps. Extraction of guava fruits, guava leaves, holy basil leaves, lemon peels, amla fruits, annato seeds, Wrightia tinctoria, Lantana camara, bamboo shoots, mustard seeds, and curry leaves is described.

The present invention provides a method of making an insulin- producing cell derived from an endometrial stromal stem cell (ESSC). The invention includes the progeny of ESSC, including any cell type generated during the differentiation of ESSC towards cells that produce insulin and exhibit cell markers characteristic of insulin producing cells. The cells of the invention can be used to treat various diseases such as diabetes type I, diabetes type II and gestational diabetes.
