Abstract:
A cross-country ski (300) comprises a slide surface (302) composed of a first material, a top surface (301), a tail (303) and a tip (304). Between the slide surface and the top surface there are a first edge side (306) and a second edge side. The edge sides are composed of a second material. The surface energy of the first material is smaller than the surface energy of the second material. In the invention the first edge side is at least partly covered with a side coating, which side coating is at least partly composed of a first material or material having substantially similar properties than the first material, i.e. the material on the slide surface. This side coating lessens the total friction between the surfaces of the ski and the snow.

Abstract:
A U2OS-based model system using luciferase reporters to monitor the genome replication of alpha and beta HPVs is provided. A modified U2OS cell line is disclosed that expresses Firefly luciferase to measure toxicity of the screened compounds. In addition, provided are HPV18, HPV 16 and HPV5 marker genomes that express Renilla luciferase under the control of viral promoters used to measure changes in the viral copy number. This ready-to-use model system is capable of being used in high-throughput screens to identify compounds inhibiting initial amplification and stable maintenance as well as vegetative phase of various HPV subtypes.

The invention further comprises electrical generators (G1-G3) mounted on each of the shafts (11a-11c) of the at least three spools (10a-10c), the output power of the generators being independently controllable and at least 60 percent of a total output power supplied to said load (200) in a form of electrical and rotational power is generated by the at least three generators (G1-G3) in the form of electrical energy.
Abstract:
Electronic system (106, 109A) for authenticating a user of an electronic service, said system preferably comprising at least one server apparatus, the system being configured to store (122, 112, 200), for a number of users, a plurality of personal voiceprints (204) each of which being linked with a dedicated visual, audiovisual or audio cue (202), for challenge-response authentication of the users, wherein the cues are user-selected, user-provided or user-created, pick (116, 200C, 142, 144), upon receipt of an authentication request associated with a claim of an identity (160) of an existing user of said number of users, a subset of cues (212) for which there are voiceprints of the existing user stored (112), and provide the cues for representation to the user as a challenge, receive (126, 148, 150) sound data indicative of the voice responses uttered by the user to the represented cues, said voice responses being captured utilizing both air and throat microphones, determine (114, 152, 154, 156, 158) on the basis of the sound data, the represented cues and voiceprints linked therewith and the existing user, whether the response has been uttered by the existing user of said number of users, wherein the sound data indicative of the voice responses uttered to the represented cues are preferably matched as concatenated against a concatenated voiceprint established based on the voiceprints linked with the represented cues and the existing user, and provided that this seems to be the case, elevate (116, 152, 200D, 218, 216) the authentication status of the user as the existing user, preferably regarding at least the current communication session. Related method and device (102c) are presented.
Abstract:
A network element (201) comprises a data transfer interface (226) for connecting to a data transfer network, a data-plane section (220) for managing data to be forwarded, and a control section (221) for configuring the data-plane section in accordance with configuration data carried by control-plane messages received from the data transfer network. The control section controls the data transfer interface to send one or more overload messages to the data transfer network in response to an overload situation where the workload of the control section impairs the ability of the control section to react to the control-plane messages. Thus, other network elements know that the network element that does not respond to the control-plane messages and thus appears to be non-working may still forward data even though its ability to react to the control-plane messages is, at least temporarily, impaired.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for controlling device-to-device communication between a first wireless terminal (110) and a second wireless terminal (120) by a base station (130). The method comprising: receiving (210) a request for a device-to-device communication resource from at least one of the wireless terminals (110, 120) over a communication link, allocating (220) at least a first communication resource being primarily used in the device-to-device communication and at least one second communication resource being secondarily used in the device-to-device communication, informing (230) at least the allocated first communication resource, and maintaining (240) the established communication link for transmitting information comprising at least data representing a state of an established communication channel on the allocated first communication resource. The invention also relates to a base station (130).
Abstract:
A network element of a software-defined network comprises a processing system (217) for maintaining a control system (218) for managing data. The control system is maintained in accordance with configuration data received from a controller of the software-defined network. In a case where the control system has no entry corresponding to frame information related to a received data frame, the processing system checks whether status information indicates availability of the frame information to the controller. If the status information does not indicate the availability, the processor system arranges the frame information to be available to the controller and updates the status information to indicate the availability. Thus, data traffic related to data-driven learning and occurring between the network element and the controller can be reduced with the aid of the above-mentioned status information.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for detecting an acoustic event of interest in a space. In the method acoustic signal data is obtained from sensors and at least some candidate impulses are determined. The candidate impulses are mapped to a representation on a basis of an origin of the candidate impulse in question and it is determined, from the generated representation, at least one indication quantity representing a likelihood of an acoustic event of interest taking place in the specified positions in space and time. Finally, the at least one indication quantity is compared to a predetermined threshold and an indication is generated if the at least indication quantity meets the predetermined threshold. The invention also relates to a computing unit and a computer program product.
