    摘要: A cycloidal magnetic gear system for a turbine system is disclosed. The system includes a first stator magnet ring, a second stator magnet ring positioned opposite the first stator magnet ring, and a rotor positioned between the first and second stator rings of magnets. The rotor may include a first side positioned adjacent the first stator magnet ring, and a second side positioned adjacent the second stator magnet ring. The system may include a first rotor magnet ring affixed to the first side of the rotor, adjacent the first stator magnet ring. Additionally, the system may include a second rotor magnet ring affixed to the second side of the rotor, adjacent the second stator magnet ring. The rotor may be configured to rotate eccentrically about a center-axis of the first and/or second stator magnet ring.

    摘要: The present teachings include an energy recovery device usable in multiple applications, for example hydropower and vehicle power plant applications. In one aspect, an energy recovery device includes a housing having an inlet and an outlet in fluid communication with an internal cavity, and a pair of counter-rotating rotors having intermeshed lobes disposed within the housing internal cavity. Each rotor defines a transport volume between the housing and a pair of adjacent lobes and has a calculated maximum ideal twist angle below which the transport volume will be sealed from both the housing inlet and housing outlet. Each rotor also has an actual twist angle that exceeds the maximum ideal twist angle.

    摘要: A heat engine system and a method for cooling a fluid stream in thermal communication with the heat engine system are provided. The heat engine system may include a working fluid circuit configured to flow a working fluid therethrough, and a cooling circuit in fluid communication with the working fluid circuit and configured to flow the working fluid therethrough. The cooling circuit may include an evaporator in fluid communication with the working fluid circuit and configured to be in fluid communication with the fluid stream. The evaporator may be further configured to receive a second portion of the working fluid from the working fluid circuit and to transfer thermal energy from the fluid stream to the second portion of the working fluid.

    摘要: An auxiliary power unit for an aircraft, having an engine core, a compressor having an outlet in fluid communication with the engine core inlet, a turbine section in fluid communication with the engine core outlet, and an excess air duct having a first end in fluid communication with the compressor outlet and a second end in fluid communication with a turbine inlet of the turbine section. The excess air duct defines a flow path between the compressor outlet and the turbine section separate from the engine core. The auxiliary power unit may include a generator in driving engagement with the engine core to provide electrical power for the aircraft. A method of providing compressed air and electrical power to an aircraft is also discussed.
