Abstract:
The system disclosed comprises an apparatus and a method for the detection and quantification of targeted molecules in vivo. The apparatus comprises an implantable biosensor and an AC magnetic detection device. The implantable biosensor includes functionalized nanoparticles functionalized with one or more moieties that bind to a molecular target of interest. The nanoparticles are retained in a biocompatible container which allows the molecular target of interest to enter the biosensor, for example through a semipermeable port. The biosensor can be implanted minimally -invasively into humans or animals. Upon exposure of the nanoparticles to the molecular target, a change in Neel relaxation time can be externally detected and correlated to the target analytes concentration. The change in relaxation time is detected through magnetic AC spectrometric measurements at a frequency specifically tuned to the nanoparticle type of interest Additionally, a method is provided for quantifying one or several biosensors within one specimen.
Abstract:
The disclosed vehicle stands have a base, a top plate, and a mechanical stop on the top plate that hold a vehicle in a secure, suspended position above a surface, such as the ground or a floor. The top plate can be removable from the base. The base has two legs that extend away from the top plate. The top plate can be flat or contoured to compliment a shape of a vehicle resting upon it. The top plate can include additional securing elements, such as a friction that on a surface that contacts a suspended vehicle and a locking mechanism that attaches to the suspended vehicle. Multiple vehicle stands can be used together. Two of the multiple stands can be connected by a cross-bar that extends under the vehicle as it is suspended above the surface by the two respective top plates.

Systems and methods for on-demand publication of religious works include receiving user selections for exterior customization options, interior customization options, and a prompt to add user-added or user-created content. The disclosed systems and methods compiled customized religious works and optionally print some portion of a hard copy of the religious work on a thin paper that is 28-50 grams per square meter or less. In some examples, the printing process includes light-fusion printing processes and/or an electronic copy format of the customized religious works created. The example printing process can print single volume or low volumes of hard copies of customized religious works using the light-fusion printing processes.
Abstract:
Devices and methods for correcting for start-up transients in integrated power amplifiers are disclosed. A delay element (116) is arranged to produce a delay waveform signal that is responsive to an input voltage signal. A transconductance element (118) has an input that receives the delay waveform signal and is arranged to provide an output boost current (102) that is based on the delay waveform signal and a gain of the transconductance element. A reference element (104) provides an output bias current (108) that is responsive to a static reference current (106) and the boost current (102). A bias element (110) has an input that receives the bias current (108) and is arranged to provide a bias control output (112). A power amplifier (114) is responsive to the bias control output (112) and is arranged to provide an amplified power output (RF OUT ).
Abstract:
The disclosure creates ergonomic input devices for computing devices by combining multiple modules. Switches and input sensors that will be held in a common orientation to the operator are collected into input modules. These connect to a parent module that processes inputs and sends data to a computing device. The parent module holds connection points for one or more processor-less modules. User comfort can be increased by placing connection points at locations that permit modules to be mounted at an angle or distance from the parent module. Module connections may be placed to permit post-sale customization or addition of sensors. Parent modules may be constructed to interface with processor-less modules, modules with processors, or modules that aggregate data from processor-less modules.
Abstract:
Tampon packaging and disposal systems and methods are disclosed. The packaging has a flexible mitten and an optional attached tampon enclosure. The tampon enclosure can package a tampon and the flexible mitten wraps around the tampon enclosure. When unwrapped, the tampon enclosure is detachable from the mitten and the tampon can be used by a user. The mitten is used for removing the used tampon worn by the user and disposing of the used tampon after removal.
Abstract:
An inventory management method and system may be capable of monitoring an inventory by compiling historical data relating to the inventory, defining net inventory needs, and calculating the quantity and/or types of inventory that may be needed to maintain a suitable level of inventory. More than one inventory and respective source may be included in the calculation of the inventory needs. The calculation may determine the inventory needs at a particular location or the inventory that must be maintained at a particular location based at least in part on the historical data, the inventory needs, and the customer's needs. The inventory and/or inventory locations may be consolidated, increased, decreased, and eliminated, as suitable to meet the needs of the customer. The net change in inventory related costs resulting from facility changes such as consolidation, increase, decrease, and elimination may be calculated and optimized.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are disclosed for monitoring executable software applications on a computer network. Executable software applications and data files may be monitored by a risk monitoring system. The executable software application and data files may attempt to access a computer network and/or a computing device and a monitoring process may identify risks associated with the executable software application and/or data file. A suspicious characteristic of the executable software application may be identified during the monitoring process. The suspicious characteristic may be malware and may be neutralized before it causes damage to the computer network and/or computing device.
Abstract:
The disclosed methods and systems use multi-spectral imaging of band data in point-of-care devices during active electrophoresis test runs to detect sensitive disease state compounds, such as hemoglobin and its variants and sub-variants. The multi-spectral imaging identifies an imaging wavelength of light that, when emitted towards the electrophoresis strip, optimizes images of the electrophoresis strip that are captured during the test. These optimized images allow for detection of the target compound, particularly at low concentrations and with low limits of detection (LoD).
Abstract:
A system for measuring capillary refill time includes a wearable device and a control unit. The wearable device includes a force sensor to obtain a force signal and an optical sensor to obtain an optical signal. The system ensures that an applied force is acceptable in both magnitude and duration, and that a duration over which the applied force is released or removed is acceptable. These factors can establish that a capillary refill time determined or calculated therein is accurate. The system can also determine the capillary refill time based on the force and optical signals obtained by the force and optical sensors, respectively.
