Abstract: An orthodontic force measurement system that enables duplication of the patient's dentition for the application of appliances in a simulated clinical condition. Six components of the load system on individual teeth can be measured. The device can take patient-specific information, such as shapes and locations of the teeth, and duplicate them on the device. Clinicians will be able to apply different appliances to the denture and measure the load system on specific teeth. By accurately quantifying force/moments on individual teeth, individualized, predictable patient-specific orthodontic treatments can be implemented.

Abstract: In some examples, a computing apparatus may determine information corresponding to a data structure and indicating delays associated with an atrium lead, a left ventricle (LV) lead, and a right ventricle (RV) lead based on one or more input variables. The computing apparatus may determine a plurality of individualized characteristics based on the information corresponding to the data structure. The computing apparatus may receive, from the plurality of measurement electrodes, a plurality of second sets of electrical measurements indicating second electrical signals applied to the patient's heart based on the plurality of individualized characteristics. The computing apparatus may determine cardiac resynchronization index (CRI) values using a first set of electrical measurements (e.g., native measurements) and the plurality of second sets of electrical measurements. The computing apparatus may generate a graphical representation based on a populated data structure and cause display of the graphical representation.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention include a method for manufacturing sensors and circuit structures. The method can include providing a substrate including a layer of polymer capable of producing graphite in response to the application of energy, a first electrode adjacent to a first via location on the layer of polymer, and an insulating layer over at least a portion of the first electrode and the layer of polymer at the first via location; and applying sufficient energy to the layer of polymer at the first via location through the insulating layer to ablate the insulating layer and to form a first via as mass of graphite that extends into electrical contact with the first electrode and is surrounded by the insulating layer in a plane of the insulating layer.

Abstract: A speech intelligibility system. Embodiments comprise a talker unit, a listener unit and an earpiece. The talker unit includes a microphone to receive audible speech content and to produce electrical signals representative of the speech content, and a transmitter coupled to the microphone to produce wireless transmissions containing the speech content. The listener unit includes a receiver to receive the wireless transmissions and to produce electrical signals representative of the speech content. At least one of the talker unit and the listener unit includes an amplifier to amplify spectral components of the speech content within a frequency range having a lower end between about 800 Hz and 1,700 Hz and an upper end between about 7,000Hz and 11,000 Hz. The earpiece is coupled to the listener unit and includes a speaker to produce audible speech content having the amplified spectral components and a tube to direct the audible speech content from the speaker toward a users ear canal.
