    Abstract: A method for policy control includes: making decision according to decision information and generating associated authorized QoS interval, sending the newly-generated authorized QoS interval to PCEF, notifying PCEF to control QoS according to the selected information and the newly-generated authorized QoS interval. A system for policy control is provided, which includes PCRF and PCEF. Using the method and the system, PCEF is able to control QoS according to the authorized QoS interval and combining with the status of the used resource and policy preset by the operator, adjust the QoS flexibly between the satisfaction of customer's request of high quality service and the limitation of network resource, and realize the reasonable assignment of network resource.
