    摘要: A process for manufacturing fire-retarded blend fibres of cellulose and chlorous polymers having a fire resistance LOI value of at least 21 % O2. A chlorous polymer which can be either a blend polymer of acrylonitrile and vinyldenechloride (modacrylate), a blend polymer of acrylonitrile and vinylchloride (modacrylate), polyvinylchloride (PVC), a blend polymer of vinyldenechloride and vinylchloride (PVDC/PVC) or a blend polymer of vinylchloride and vinylacetate (PVC/PVAc) or a mixture of these is blended either as such or dissolved in an organic solvent with a lithiumchloride/dimethylacetamide- or lithiumchloride/1-methyl-2-pyrrolidone solution of cellulose in such a way that a blend is obtained which has at least 10 but not more than 60 % by weight of said chlorous polymer based on the total amount of cellulose and the chlorous polymer. Fibres are manufactured of the obtained blend by feeding it into a solution where the blend of the polymers precipitates in the form of fibres.

In particular, the invention is related to the acidification of tall oil soap and to a process to fractionate tall oil soap. According to the patented method, tall oil soap is contacted with high pressure carbon dioxide, and simultaneously, the formed brine containing aqueous-and tall oil phases are separated. By this method the tall oil soap can be acidulated almost completely, and there is no need to add sulfuric acid. High quality tall oil can be produced by this method.

    摘要: Method of treating an starting material which comprises cellulose, the uses of the method and an apparatus which is suitable for the implementation of the method. In the method, an aqueous starting material is treated with electricity, in which case, according to the present invention, the state of organisation of the initial cellulosic material is selectively changed by directing electric energy at the cellulose, the amount of which energy is sufficient to break the hydrogen bonds between the polymer chains of the cellulose. Hydrolytic chemicals are not needed in the solutions, nor is it necessary to use a high temperature or an elevated pressure. After the treatment and depending on whether the degree of organisation of the cellulose is increased or decreased, it is possible to use the cellulosic material in applications that utilise the fibrous structure of cellulose or, correspondingly, in applications in which decomposition products of cellulose are recovered.
