    摘要: A motor control system for controlling operation of a motor having a plurality of windings includes a gate driver to provide a control signal to one or more switching elements controlling a voltage applied to the plurality of windings and a Field Oriented Control (FOC) controller configured to generate a PWM signal for coupling to the gate driver, wherein the FOC controller comprises a d-axis control loop configured to generate an applied d-axis voltage and a q-axis control loop configured to generate an applied q-axis voltage. A stall detector is configured to calculate an estimate of the q-axis voltage and compare the applied q-axis voltage to a threshold based on the estimate in order to detect a stall condition of the motor.

    摘要: A magnetic field sensor (100,200) includes a substrate (102,202) and first and second magnetic field sensing elements (104, A-D) responsive to a magnet, comprising first and second magnetoresistance elements, respectively. At one or more positions of the magnet relative to the first and second magnetic field sensing elements while the magnet is stopped moving, at least one of the magnetic field sensing elements is in saturation in response to the magnet. A third magnetic field sensing element (E) proximate to the first and second magnetoresistance elements is operable to generate a third magnetic field sensing element signal responsive to the magnet, wherein, at the one or more positions while the magnet is stopped moving, the third magnetic field sensing element is not in saturation in response to the magnet or saturates at a higher magnetic field than the first and second magnetic field sensing elements in response to the magnet.

    摘要: In one aspect, an integrated circuit (IC) includes a sensor. The sensor includes a processor configured to provide speed and/or direction of a target object based on the speed of the target object. The processor monitors for a diagnostic fault which is a low level fault which still allows to detect speed; if such a diagnostic fault is detected, information about the fault is transmitted. The processor also monitors for critical faults, which do not allow to determine speed any more. In this case, the occurrence of such a critical fault is reported. The processor continues to monitor the fault, and only once the sensor recovers from the critical fault, data and information bits are transmitted.

    摘要: Magnetic field sensors can sense speed of movement and direction of movement of a ferromagnetic object. The magnetic field sensors employ both planar Hall effect elements and vertical Hall effect elements to generate two-state signals in two different signal paths with relative phases that are ninety degrees apart, the ninety degrees having sufficient margin to aid in detection of the direction of motion. Other magnetic field sensors use at least four vertical Hall effect elements to identify a speed of rotation and a direction of rotation of a moving ferromagnetic object.
