Abstract:
The present invention relates to a tamper-evident push- through packaging secured against fraudulent reuse comprising : - a polymer base web (1) comprising at least one pocket; - a multilayer lidding film (2) covering said pocket, said multilayer lidding film (2) comprising on its seal side a coextruded polymer film, said coextruded polymer film comprising a push-through polymer layer (3) sealed on the base web by a permanent seal and a peelable protective polymer layer (4), the polymers of both layers (3,4) being incompatible and in direct contact with each other, without interlayer, the adhesion between said push- through polymer layer (3) and said peelable protective polymer layer (4) being lower than the seal strength between said polymer base web (1) and said push-through polymer layer (3), wherein, in use, the push-trough layer leaves a seal seam (6), after removing the part of the push-trough layer (3) covering the pocket and wherein said protective layer (4) cannot be resealed by a heat sealing process on said seal seam (6).
Abstract:
The present invention is related to a method for producing a multilayer structure comprising a thin polymeric layer (10) comprising the steps of : coextruding said thin layer on both sides of a support polymer layer (11) and forming a coextruded structure (7); laminating or extrusion coating at least one additional layer (16) on both sides of said coextruded structure; peeling-off said thin layers, along with the additional layers from said support layer (16) to build a multilayer polymer structure.
Abstract:
A package for packing a generally block shaped product (3) comprises a generally rectangular sheet (1 ) of a flexible, foldable packaging material provided with an inner surface of a sealable coating. The sheet includes a central body portion (2) for enclosing the block shaped product and opposite side portions (6, 7) and opposite end portions (8, 9) adjacent to the central body portion and forming a frame shaped portion (5) surrounding the central body portion (2). A flap portion (10, 11 ) of each of the side portions is folded inwardly and sealed inner face to inner face to form tabs (14, 15). The sheet is folded around the product such that the body portion encloses the block shaped product with the inner surface facing the product. The inner surface of one of the side portions (6) abuts the inner surface of the other side portion (7), the side portions being mutually sealed by means of a longitudinal seal (18). The inner surface of each of the end portions (8, 9) abuts itself, each of the end portions being sealed by means of an end seal (19, 20). The central body portion (2) enclosing the product is without the sealable coating, and the frame shaped portion (5) surrounding the central body portion is provided with a sealable coating of a cold sealable and peelable composition preferably extending up to the very edges of the sheet.
Abstract:
The present invention is related to an ostomy pouch comprising a laminated, substantially chlorine-free, multi-layer film comprising at least one barrier layer and at least one sealable skin layer; wherein the barrier layer is an oriented barrier layer comprising oriented polyester or oriented polypropylene; and the skin layer comprises a layer selected from the group consisting of a blend of low-density polyethylene and linear low density polyethylene, a blend of low density polyethylene and linear low density polyethylene C4 butene, a coextrudate of ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer and ethylene butyl acrylate copolymer, and a coextrudate of ethylene methyl acrylate copolymer and ethylene butyl acrylate copolymer.
Abstract:
A functional laminate (10) for packaging products, especially food products, comprising an inner film (11) having a first and a second surface and an outer film having a first and a second surface. The second surface of the outer film being laminated to the second surface of the inner film (12) by means of an adhesive layer (13) except for a limited region forming a compartment. The first surface of the inner film (12) and the first surface of the outer film (11) are substantially parallel throughout the entire extend of the laminate (10) and the compartment contains an active substance (14) and the inner film (12) comprises a passage mean (15) providing connection between the compartment and the first surface of the inner film.
Abstract:
The invention is related to a film or a sheet material comprising a monolayer, called core layer, comprising at least a blend of 10 to 40 % of the total weight of a polypropylene random heterophasic block copolymer and 60 to 90 % of an heterophasic polypropylene block copolymer wherein the elongation in the said film is higher than 550 % in the machine direction and higher than 700 % in the cross direction.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a self-venting package (6) for packing a food preparation and warming it up comprising: at least one flexible film forming a first wall comprising a sealant layer (9) and a support layer (10), said flexible film being sealed by a peripheral seal (4) onto a second wall or on itself, thereby forming a main enclosure confining the food preparation; a rupturable seal (3) isolating a venting hole (1) from said main enclosure, said rupturable seal being arranged for opening, in use, a path to the venting hole upon internal pressure increase in said main enclosure, caracterised in that a specific region (5) of the rupturable seal is weakened by means of a welded area with a reduced sealant lay er thickness, said welded area guiding, in use, the rupture of said rupturable seal to the venting hole.
Abstract:
A chemically resistant laminate film comprising an outer film including a layer of aluminium foil bonded to a heat sealable film by a chemically resistant layer, wherein the chemically resistant layer comprises an ethylene acrylic acid copolymer.
Abstract:
Sliced loaves of bread are packaged in a bag (1) by a method comprising feeding loaves through a slicer (11) in a feed direction parallel to the slices, feeding successive sliced loaves to a bagging mechanism (16) which moves each loaf and a bag relative to one another in a filling direction parallel to the slices so as to insert the loaf into the bag through an open end thereof, and closing said open end of the bag (1) to seal the loaf in the bag. The bag has an opening, preferably reclosable (5) that is orientated along the length of the loaf so as to allow equal access to all slices of the loaf through the opening. A consumer can therefore be offered a choice of different slices. The reclosable opening comprises comprise a zip-type closure (5) which extends across the opening, and a tamper indication (8, 9) is incorporated in the opening.
