Abstract: A display positioning apparatus is provided for lifting, supporting, and/or positioning a load, such as a display. The apparatus includes a base and a lift arm adapted to couple to a display, the lift arm pivotally coupled to the base providing a range of travel. A balance mechanism is operatively coupled to the lift arm and the base to counterbalance the lift arm and display. In some cases the balance mechanism includes a torquing spring member to counterbalance the lift arm and an attached display along the range of travel.

Abstract: Embodiments include a balance mechanism having a first cam and a second cam configured to convert a variable force exerted by the energy storage member into a substantially constant force applied to a mounting portion. The balance mechanism may be useful for balancing forces such that a user can set the height of an electronic display and/or other equipment attached to the balance mechanism at a number of heights within the range of travel allowed by the mechanism. Lift mechanisms, display positioning apparatuses, and height adjustable desks incorporating a multi-cam balance mechanism are also provided. A method of positioning a display is also provided.

Abstract: An apparatus for positioning items such as an electronic display, a keyboard, and/or a work surface. The apparatus includes a movement mechanism (2020) that provides multiple tilt positions for one or more displays (2010) supported by the apparatus. In some cases the movement mechanism enables adjustment of the display (s) between a generally horizontal viewing configuration and a generally declining viewing configuration.
