Abstract: A peritoneal dialysis system comprises a cycler including a peristaltic pump actuator, and a weigh scale; a disposable set including a peristaltic pump tube operable with the peristaltic pump actuator, a patient line in fluid communication with the peristaltic pump tube, and a heating container in operable communication with the weigh scale; and a control unit configured to cause (i) the peristaltic pump actuator to operate at a rotational speed to cause an amount of fluid to enter the heating container, (ii) weigh the amount of fluid, and (iii) determine at least one of a mass rate or volume rate for the rotational speed.

Abstract: A dialysis system with an integrated adaptive virtual assistant and/or chatbot is disclosed. In an example, logic for the adaptive virtual assistant and/or chatbot may be integrated with a dialysis machine or provided remotely in a cloud computing environment. The adaptive virtual assistant and/or chatbot is configured to use speech or text from a patient in conjunction with medical information from the dialysis machine to determine an issue a patient is experiencing or a probability that a patient will experience (or is experiencing) a medical complication. For an issue, the adaptive virtual assistant and/or chatbot is configured to provide a resolution, which may include a recommended action for a patient or a clinician to perform. The use of the medical information enables the adaptive virtual assistant and/or chatbot to more quickly converge upon a solution without needing to ask a patient numerous questions.

Abstract: An automated peritoneal dialysis system (10) comprising: a dialysis fluid pump actuator (60); a dialysis fluid carrying set (120) including a flexible sheet (136); a temperature sensor (38) positioned and arranged to sense a temperature of the dialysis fluid flowing through the dialysis fluid carrying set (120); a pressure sensor (36a, 36b) positioned and arranged to contact the flexible sheet (136) when the dialysis fluid carrying set (120) is loaded for operation with the dialysis fluid pump actuator (60); and a control unit (50) configured to (i) precondition the flexible sheet (136) for operation with the pressure sensor (36a, 36b) by causing the dialysis fluid pump actuator (60) to apply pressure to the flexible sheet (136) and (ii) use an output from the temperature sensor (38) in a compensation algorithm that modifies an output from the pressure sensor (36a, 36b).

Abstract: A graph database for outbreak tracking and management is disclosed. In an example, an outbreak management system includes a memory device storing instructions that define a graph database for disease outbreak tracking. The instructions specify, for a given host, that a host node is created and an episode node is connected to the host node via a 'case' link. Additionally, the instructions specify that a rule node is connected to the episode node via a 'found' link. The rule node is associated with a workflow, an assignment, and a notification, and includes at least one defined condition. If a condition is satisfied for a case, the rule node is linked to the episode node. This leakage causes the workflow to be added for the episode node, the episode node to be assigned to an individual or a team, and a notification to be generated regarding an association with the rule.
