Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a method for converting residential food waste into a shelf stable biosecure product. The method comprises comminuting the food waste; dehydrating the comminuted food waste under conditions whereby a liquid by-product and a dehydrated granular product are formed; heating the granular product at a temperature and for a time effective to kill all pathogens; and storing the biosecure product.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a traffic risk management system for monitoring vehicles relative to one or more workers. The system comprises a driverless traffic management vehicle for detecting one or more of a location, speed and trajectory of an approaching vehicle and a personal detection device mountable on the or each worker and configured to receive a signal from the driverless traffic management vehicle. The driverless traffic management vehicle sends an alert to the personal detection device mounted on the or each worker if the detected location, speed and/or trajectory of the approaching vehicle exceeds a predetermined threshold value measured relative to the or each worker.
Abstract:
There is provided a method for roadside asset tracking and maintenance monitoring. The method comprises periodically deploying a mobile unit alongside a roadside section. The mobile unit comprising a data capture device comprising: an asset data capture device operably coupled to at least one digital camera configured for capturing roadside asset image data; a global positioning system (GPS) receiver; and a data interface for communicating with an asset management server, the server comprising an asset tracking register database. The method comprises receiving the roadside asset image data representing images taken of a plurality of roadside assets and receiving location data from the GPS receiver representing the respective locations the roadside assets. The method then comprises utilising an asset type image recognition technique for automating the identification of the roadside assets and comparing roadside asset data of the asset tracking register database to record newly identified roadside assets and their respective locations in the asset tracking register database; and identify missing roadside assets.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are stackable cages for holding oysters, modular cages for holding oysters, floating platforms for deploying and retrieving oyster cages from a long line, and floats adapted to engage a plurality of oyster long lines and from which one or more oyster cages may depend.
Abstract:
A roof rack comprising a plurality of roof attachments for attaching the roof rack to a roof of an automobile; at least two cross bars that are arrangeable across the roof of the automobile, each cross bar comprising a plurality of members configured to move relative to each other such that the cross bar is extendable into an extended configuration in which a portion of the cross bar would overhang a side of the automobile; a mounting rack configured to receive articles on an upper portion thereof, the mounting rack being mounted to the at least two cross bars in a spaced relationship thereto, whereby extending the at least two cross bars into their extended configurations moves the mounting rack between a first position overlying the roof of the automobile and a second position overhanging the side of the automobile, wherein the mounting rack is mounted to a member of the at least two cross bars which is the last to move into a position overhanging the side of the automobile; a pivot that is not operable until the mounting rack is in the second position, the mounting rack being pivotable between the second position and a third position where the mounting rack would be adjacent the side of the automobile with the upper portion facing away from the side of the automobile for loading or unloading of the articles; and a ground engaging portion configured to engage the ground when the mounting rack is in the third position.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is an apparatus for farming oysters and, in particular, intertidal oysters. The apparatus comprises a float, at least one oyster container configured to hold oysters and be carryable on the float, and a driver operable to periodically move each of the at least one oyster container between an underwater position and an above water position.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are apparatus, methods and systems for promoting and encouraging the beneficial recycling of food waste. In one aspect, disclosed herein is a tamper resistant lid assembly for a receptacle. The lid assembly is locatable over an opening of the receptacle and comprises a first lid that is operable by a user and which comprises a lock for locking the first lid in a closed configuration; and a second lid that is operable independently of the first lid, the second lid being biased into a closed configuration but openable by a collector of the receptacle in order to empty the receptacle. The assembly is configured such that the second lid is not manually openable.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a vehicle for removing foreign objects (e.g. rubbish) from an area proximal to the vehicle (e.g. along a roadside). The vehicle comprises an arm that is moveable into a foreign object collecting position, a foreign object collector located at a distal end of the arm and configured for collecting foreign objects, and a conduit for conveying collected foreign objects to a storage bin.
Abstract:
Improvements in apparatus and methods for the rearing of abalone in both on-shore and off-shore environments. An on-shore tank for growing abalone comprising an elongate base comprising, a plurality of prefabricated base portions, upright walls parallel to a longitudinal axis of the elongate base, a plurality of channels, connected to a water discharger for delivering a flow of water to each channel and a water drain, a plurality of tanks being arranged into an array. An offshore submersible container defining an enclosure for abalone, the enclosure comprising an internal surface for receiving abalone thereon, one or more apertures configured to allow water to flow through the enclosure when the container is submerged, but not to allow abalone to pass therethrough, one or more feeding ports in the container walls, and one or more feed dispensers, each dispenser comprising a receptacle for abalone feed and a mouth portion that is configured for receipt at a respective feeding port.
Abstract:
A driverless traffic management vehicle has a control system having a controller interfacing steering and drive interfaces for control of respective steering and drive subsystems of the vehicle. The vehicle also has an impact attenuator and actuator therefor for configuring the attenuator in deployed and stowed configurations. The control system comprises at least one driverless mode controller operably controlling the steering and drive interfaces for controlling the vehicle in at least one of follow mode, remote-control and autonomous driverless mode of operation. To control traffic, the vehicle may be driven to a roadside location and set in the at least one driverless mode of operation to control the steering and drive interfaces accordingly.
