Abstract:
Screw press, with small dimensions, particularly suitable for the compaction of solid waste for disposal also by means of sorted-waste collection, of the type which comprises an initial large-diameter screw section witha wide-pitch helix, communicating laterally with the bottom opening of the loading hopper (1) in order to remove the material from it and feed it to a following small-diameter screw section with a small-pitch helix, surrounded by an internally scored stator body so as to produce the feeding and compaction of the material which also occurs in conjunction with the action of constriction means which act on the discharge mouth of this latter screw section, a press of this type being characterized in that the two said aforementioned screw sections (3, 4) are separated and arranged parallel to each other and one above or around each other, so as to form overall a press which no longer has as its length the sum of the lengths of the said two screw sections, but which has a length corresponding to the length of the longer of the two screw sections, means being envisaged for operating said two screw sections at different speeds, with the second compacting screw section (4) which rotates at a speed greater than that of the first feeder screw section (3).
Abstract:
The screw press or presses (3) for compressing waste are arranged inside an encased frame in the form of a prism with a rectangular base, with outer walls made of stainless steel and/or other hygienically cleanable material and with dimensions such as to have an upper surface (10) which has a sufficiently large extension and is situated at a distance from the ground such that it may be used in an ergonomic manner as a spacious and comfortable working surface by an operator on one side of the machine who places on this surface the trays with the waste and the dirty dishes and cutlery and who discards the said waste into at least one opening (20) situated at one end or short side of this working surface (10) and adjacent to the underlying loading hopper of a press (3). After initial cleaning of the waste, the said trays, together with the cutlery and dishes, are deposited and if necessary stored on the other end of the said working surface (10) and are transferred into a dishwasher by the said operator or by a second operator working on the other side of the machine.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a device for recovering used stackable containers, in particular cups, the recovery device comprising a guide track which is disposed at least between a first and a second processing arrangement for the containers and supports the latter. The guide track is provided substantially above a receiver opening in the processing arrangement with a tilting device for tilting each container in the guide track in the direction of the receiver opening. In order to simplify the construction of the tilting device and make it reliable, it is formed as a guide track region in which the guide track comprises a tilting recess which is open substantially in the direction of the receiver opening and to one side of the guide track, and an edge guide which supports a container edge region disposed opposite the receiver opening.
Abstract:
The compactor comprises a horizontal-axis conveying screw or spiral (2) which operates partly inside a loading hopper (1) and partly inside a stator body (201) situated laterally and on the outside of the said hopper. The bottom walls of the hopper which are situated at a short distance from the said spiral and the inner surface of said stator body (201) have longitudinal scoring (401) which, together with the direction of rotation of said spiral (2), has the effect that the waste to be compacted fed in loose form inside the hopper is conveyed by the said screw from the hopper to the stator body (201) which is for example flanged to a gear motor unit (3, 103), the output shaft (203) of which supports in projecting fashion the said screw (2). The said stator body (201) is provided laterally with a window (4) through which the waste conveyed by the spiral (2) is fed to the stator body (5) of a press (P, P1) which is oriented at right angles to the axis of the said feed spiral (2).
Abstract:

Abstract:
The pivoting hatch (8) which constricts the discharge mouth (3) of the screw press is controlled, during pivoting, by a servocontrol device or actuator of any suitable - preferably irreversible - type and means are envisaged for detecting in any suitable manner the force which the material pushed by the press exerts against this constricting hatch and for generating a corresponding electric command or signal which is sent to a microprocessor unit (29) which drives the said servocontrol device and which is also preset to detect the value of the current used by the electric motor of the reduction gear unit (31) for rotation of the screw (2) of the press and to compare this current value with threshold operating and safety values which are programmed in it. Means are envisaged for ensuring that this microprocessor unit is able to regulate automatically opening of the constricting hatch of the press so as to keep the current used by the motor of the said press within the operating values and ensuring that, if the said current tends to exceed a predetermined safety value, the apparatus increases automatically opening of the constricting hatch, and also for ensuring that, if the said problem persists, the press is stopped and its screw is temporarily made to assume a reverse rotation condition in order to carry out one or more attempts at unblocking it, following which the said press returns to the normal operating cycle. The end part (101) of the body (1) of the press is occupied along practically the whole of its length by the rotating screw (2) such that the final part of the latter is situated at a short distance from the discharge mouth (3) of the said press, in order to limit the formation of residual plugs of material in this mouth and facilitate cleaning of the said discharge mouth.
