This application relates to a press (1) for compacting material (M) of metal scrap, metal waste or general waste. The press (1) comprises a compacting chamber (2) having at least one movable compaction surface (5, 7, 9) configured for compaction and a door arrangement (10) configured for selectively opening the compacting chamber (2) for removal of the compacted material (M); a hydraulic pressure actuation system (11, 12, 13) configured for acting upon said at least one movable compaction surfaces (5, 7, 9); and a door actuator (14) configured for acting upon said door arrangement (10) for opening and/or closing of the door arrangement (10). According to the invention, said door actuator (14) is an electric drive. A method for compacting material (M) is also disclosed.

The compactor comprises at least one robust transport screw, helix or spiral (16), which is inclined, of conical shape, downwardly converging, with a downwardly decreasing pitch, and is aligned axially with and fixed to the slow output shaft (117) of a reduction gear unit (17, 217, 317) located above and outside the inclined wall (301) of a loading hopper (1) which has an upper descending portion (101) with at least one hatch (2) for the introduction of the waste to be compacted and a discharge conduit (7) whose outlet opening is shut off by constriction means (8, 108, 208). The lower part (201) of the hopper (1) is shaped in the form of a funnel which is open outwards and is provided with drainage holes (9) and a base area (10) into which any liquid present in the waste tends to flow by gravity, means (13, 14, 114) being provided to collect the liquid and to guide it by gravity towards discharge means (20) a container (18).

A system for processing waste on a continuous basis comprises an infeed assembly, a vessel held at a non-ambient pressure and/or temperature, and an outfeed assembly. The infeed assembly includes: a sleeve where waste is delivered; a gate construction that moves between an open and a closed position; and a ram that moves within the sleeve to compress waste when the gate construction is in the closed position and to push the compressed waste into the vessel, where it is metamorphically processed, when the gate construction is in the open position. The processed material moves from the vessel to the outfeed assembly, which includes a compaction chamber, a ram that moves within the compaction chamber, and a cutter assembly. Waste is compacted in the compaction chamber by the ram, cut by the cutter assembly, and delivered as a compacted block to an environment having an ambient pressure and/or temperature.

A press for waste has an actuator (42) that moves a ram (40) in a chamber (30). The actuator and the ram are connected by a fastening system (100). The fastening system allows the ram to be displaced in a direction perpendicular to the length and direction of travel of the actuator. In this way, as inner surfaces of the chamber wear the ram may adjust to the worn surfaces without applying large forces perpendicular to the length of the actuator. When the actuator moves forward, it pushes directly against the back of the ram. When the actuator moves backwards, it pulls a pin (102) that pushes on an inner surface (108) of the ram.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a hydraulic compactor configured to be fastened to the cover structure of an underground collection container, for compacting waste materials. The hydraulic compactor comprises a filling opening equipped with a hatch, via which the waste material may be entered into a compressing space inside the compactor, a press member being provided above the compressing space and being movable in the vertical direction inside the compactor. The press member presses the waste material fed into the compressing space against the bottom plate of the compactor. The bottom plate of the compactor is a hydraulic bottom plate opening in the horizontal direction, via which the waste material compressed in the compressing space is dropped into the underground collection container. The invention also relates to an underground collection container comprising a compactor.

Utilisation d'une presse chauffante dont le moyen de chauffage (25) est un dispositif à induction disposé autour de la chambre de chauffage/compression (21). Avantageusement la presse peut comprendre aussi une chambre de compression (210) disposée du côté fermé de la chambre de chauffage/compression (21), et une chambre de précompression (28) disposée du côté ouvert de la chambre de chauffage/compression (21). Cette utilisation est particulièrement bien adaptée à la compaction des fibres d'acier issues de la valorisation des pneumatiques usagés.

A disclosed example trash compacting system includes a trash receptacle, a collection bin (320), a compaction bin (310) proximal to the collection bin (320), having a receiving opening to receive trash via the trash receptacle, and having an ejection opening through which compacted trash is ejected into the collection bin (320), and a compactor mechanism operatively coupled with the compaction bin (310) to compact the trash within the compaction bin (310).
