Abstract:
Many methods are presented herein including a method comprising: providing a metal surface; and contacting the metal surface with a treatment fluid comprising an aqueous base fluid, an acid, a corrosion inhibitor, and a corrosion inhibitor intensifier composition comprising a corrosion inhibitor compound that corresponds to a formula: PR1R2R3, wherein R1, R2, and R3 are chosen from the group consisting of C 1 -C 20 alkyl, cycloalkyl, oxyalkyl, and aryl groups, and R1, R2, and R3 may or may not be equal. Corrosion inhibitor intensifier compositions also are provided.
Abstract:
Corrosion inhibitor compositions may include certain combinations of the following components: a group 15 metal source, a cinnamaldehyde compound, an additional aldehyde compound, an acetylenic compound, a surfactant, an iodide source, and a solvent. Certain embodiments may omit one or more of these components. The inhibitor corrosion compositions may possess desirable environmental properties particularly for use in downhole environments. The corrosion inhibitor compositions herein do not require the presence of quaternary ammonium compounds or "Mannich" condensation compounds.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to acidic treatment fluids that comprise an acid fluid and an ester-containing quaternary ammonium compound ("esterquat") and methods of their use. One embodiment of the present invention provides a method of inhibiting metal corrosion during a subterranean treatment operation comprising using an acidic treatment fluid comprising an acidic fluid and an esterquat. Another embodiment of the present invention provides a method of reducing sludge formation during a subterranean treatment operation formation comprising the step of using an acidic treatment fluid comprising an acidic fluid and an esterquat. Another embodiment of the present invention provides a method of inhibiting the formation of emulsions during a subterranean treatment operation comprising using an acidic treatment fluid comprising an acidic fluid and an esterquat. Another embodiment of the present invention provides an acidic subterranean treatment fluid comprising an acidic fluid and an esterquat.
