The invention relates to biologically active nanoparticles of a carbonate-substituted non- stoichiometric hydroxyapatite, having: a) a crystallinity degree CD lower than 40%, the crystallinity degree being defined as CD = (1-X/Y) • 100 wherein: Y= height of the diffraction maximum at 2θ = 33°, X = height of the diffraction background at 2θ = 33° of the nanoparticles X-ray diffraction pattern; b) a length L ranging from 20 to 200 nm and a width W ranging from 5 to 30 nm; and c) an aspect ratio AR comprised between 2 and 40, the aspect ratio being defined as AR = L/W. The biologically active nanoparticles of the invention find a preferred use in oral or dental hygiene applications and may be formulated as compositions for oral or dental hygiene such as, for example, solutions, suspensions, oils, gels or other solid products. Other aspects of the invention include a process for preparing a suspension for oral or dental hygiene including the aforementioned biologically active nanoparticles, a process for manufacturing a toothpaste comprising the nanoparticles, as well as a method of locally remineralizing the teeth comprising contacting the teeth with the nanoparticles.

The present invention relates to a cosmetic composition having a moisturizing action comprising, in a physiologically acceptable medium and in parts by weight based on the total weight of the composition: a) from 0.001 to 0.007 parts by weight of at least one cosmetically acceptable salt of lactic acid; b) from 0.002 to 0.014 parts by weight of at least one amino acid selected from: L- serine, glycine, leucine, lysine, proline, valine, tyrosine, glutamic acid, alanine, aspartic acid, arginine, tryptophan, histidine, phenylalanine, ornithine, threonine, and mixtures thereof; c) from 0.001 to 0.007 parts by weight of trehalose; and d) from 0.0005 to 0.005 parts by weight of at least one cosmetically acceptable salt of zinc. The invention also relates to a method for the cosmetic treatment of the skin and a cosmetic product comprising such a composition.

A dental care product comprising carbonate- substituted strontium-hydroxyapatite particles having a lactoferrin-functionalized surface, wherein said particles have the formula: Ca (10-x) Sr x (ΡO 4 ) (6-γ) (CO 3 ) y (OH) 2 wherein x is a number comprised between 0.0010 and 0.015; and y is a number comprised between 0.0010 and 0.010; and wherein said carbonate-substituted strontium-hydroxyapatite particles have a crystallinity degree CD comprised between 55 and 85%. The carbonate-substituted strontium-hydroxyapatite particles are biomimetic for composition, structure and morphology allowing a strong chemical affinity with natural enamel and dentine hydroxyapatite crystals and inducing the formation of a rimineralizing and protective surface coating on enamel and dentine.

The main body (20) is made from cellulose pulp, the closing member (30) is made from biocompatible material and the capsule (10) further comprises a first sealing film made from edible material comprising at least one salt of alginic acid (23) and positioned inside said bottom (22) of the main body (20) at least at said at least one first valve means (40). It is also described a method for manufacturing a capsule for dispensing a beverage, as defined above.
