Abstract: A process for removing a stain from a fabric comprising a step of passing an electric current of from 0.01 A to 10A using a voltage/current source across at least two elctrodes (3, 4) through an aqueous solution of a substance capable of generating an oxidative or reductive bleaching species, whilst keeping the stained area (7) fo the fabric in contact with the aqueous solution and positioned at a distance not greater than 3 cm from one of the electrodes.
