摘要: In order to repair any damage to an originally applied paint film, a method of the invention facilitates repair of the paint film by removing essentially only that portion of the paint film that is damaged. After removal of the damaged portion of the paint film, a series of abrading, application, and polishing steps results in a repaired portion of the paint film.

摘要: Multi-layer protective sheets of the invention are useful in a range of indoor and outdoor applications in, for example, the transportation, architectural and sporting goods industries. In one embodiment, a multi-layer protective sheet comprises sequential layers as follows: optionally, a topcoat layer; a carrier layer; a resilient layer; and an adhesive layer. Protective sheets of the invention are advantageously not only capable of protecting a surface, but also capable of being more cleanly removed therefrom than conventional protective sheets without resilient layers between the carrier layer and adhesive layer therein.

摘要: Hard disk drives of the invention are wrapped in wraps for enhanced sealing of the hard disk drive. Wrapped hard disk drives of the invention comprise: an enclosed hard disk drive housing comprising a base and a cover enclosed around internal components for facilitating reading and recording of data at a desired location on at least one disk contained within the housing; and a wrap wrapped and metallically sealed around the enclosed hard disk drive housing in an at least partially overlapping manner to form the wrapped hard disk drive and prevent undesired migration therethrough such that a sealed environment exists within the wrapped hard disk drive.

摘要: Methods of the invention include those for applying protective sheets to articles. According to these methods and resulting articles, a protective sheet is applied to at least a portion of an exterior surface where protection is desired on an article. At least one portion of at least one exterior surface of the article to be protected can be integrally formed in the presence of the protective sheet. Improved bonding of the protective sheet to the article and improved processing efficiency are advantageously achieved according to the invention.

摘要: Multi-layer films of the invention comprise sequential layers as follows: a topcoat layer; a boundary layer; a carrier layer; and an adhesive layer. Inclusion of the boundary layer between the topcoat layer and the carrier layer was, surprisingly, found to provide a multi-layer film that is more resistant to formation therein of compromising defects during intensified stretching when applying the film to a surface. Advantageously, the boundary layer generally promotes stretchability of the multi-layer film. Articles comprising the same and methods for their formation and use are also described herein.
