Abstract:
A device, system and method for enabling the measuring of audiences to media consumed through the use of digital media terminals. The invention includes a loop- back device that allows the production/extraction of content identification information from media items rendered by a digital media terminal that can be seamlessly and homogenously implemented in a wide variety of media distribution platforms and devices, including Internet and mobile networks.
Abstract:
An audience measurement system generates signatures of unknown pieces of content viewed by panel members, and generates multiplexed reference signatures of known pieces of content. The signatures of the unknown pieces of content are stored and transmitted to a central processing site, where they are compared with the reference signatures for their identification. A signature comparator finds matches between the signatures of the unknown and the known contents.
Abstract:
An audience measurement system for producing audience information of a media presentation includes a moveable apparatus that picks up an audio signal belonging to the media presentation, processes the audio signal in order to derive content identification information. The apparatus includes a user interface that allows panel members to indicate their presence in front of a media presenting device and to indicate the media session type, providing feedback to panel members about the presence information and the selected media session type. The content identification information, presence information and the media session type are stored and then downloaded to a docking station which sends the data to a remotely located central base for further processing for generating audience information.

Abstract:
An audience measurement system generates signatures of unknown pieces of content viewed by panel members, and generates reference signatures of known pieces of content. The signatures of the unknown pieces of content are stored and transmitted to a central processing site, • where they are compared with the reference signatures for their identification. A scanning engine finds matches between the signatures of the unknown and the known contents, and stores matches so as to build "tracking segments", i.e., strings of matches that indicate a coincidence between the unknown content and one or more known pieces of content for a certain period of time, and associates the unknown content to the known piece of content with the longest tracking segment.
Abstract:
A computer implemented method is provided for generating audience information for a population. The method includes the steps of recording reference media consumption information for a plurality of reference panel elements, recording mass media consumption information for a plurality of mass panel elements and determining a correspondence between portions of the reference and mass media consumption information obtained. Said correspondence is used to link at least one of the reference panel elements to at least one of the mass panel elements in order to define a session including media consumption information recorded for the linked reference and mass panel elements and to define audience information for the population therefrom.
