There are provided methods for preparing hematite. For example, the method can comprise reacting a basic aqueous composition comprising the iron and the aluminum with hematite under conditions suitable for at least partially converting the iron into hematite under the form of a precipitate, thereby obtaining a liquid phase and a solid phase; and separating the liquid phase from the solid phase.

The present disclosure relates to processes for recovering rare earth elements from various materials. The processes can comprise leaching the at least one material with at least one acid so as to obtain a leachate comprising at least one metal ion and at least one rare earth element, and a solid, and separating the leachate from the solid. The processes can also comprise substantially selectively removing at least one of the at least one metal ion from the leachate and optionally obtaining a precipitate. The processes can also comprise substantially selectively removing the at least one rare earth element from the leachate and/or the precipitate.

The invention relates to an instrument panel comprising two front faces and to a method of forming a front face for said instrument panel. The inventive instrument panel consists of: at least one pointer indicator (1, 12) comprising a dial of indicator characters (5) which are supported by a front face (4), an indicator pointer (2), and a motor for rotating the pointer around the dial. The instrument panel also comprises a second front face (6) which supports other indicator characters (10). According to the invention, the aforementioned pointer (2) is disposed between the two front faces (4, 6). The front faces are flat-screen printed and subsequently formed in relief. The invention is suitable for motor vehicles.

The invention relates to an indicating device comprising a dial plate (7) and a mobile pointer (14) which is mounted in front thereof and is provided with input and output parts for a light beam produced by at least one lighting unit (19), wherein said lighting unit is positioned in such a way that the light beam is transmitted towards the dial plate which is placed in such a way that it forms a unit guiding the light beam to the input part of the pointer.

There is provided a method for extracting aluminum ions from aluminous ores, such as argillite. The process comprises leaching the argillite with an acid such as HCI so as to obtain a composition comprising the aluminum ions and iron ions; at least partially removing the iron ions from the composition by substantially selectively precipitating the iron at a pH of about 3 to about 6 by adding a base and at least partially removing the precipitated iron ions so as to obtain an Al-rich composition; and optionally purifying the Al-rich composition by adding a base for substantially selectively selectively precipitating the aluminum ions, by means of a hollow fiber membrane, or by a liquid-liquid extraction.

The invention relates to an indicator (1) with an illuminated pointer (10) which is mounted to an electronic board (21) belonging to an instrument panel. The inventive pointer comprises a rotary arm with a light source (13), while the board comprises a light power source (22). The invention is characterised in that the light source consists of a support which is made from a flexible material (30). According to the invention, a first part (30') of the aforementioned support is covered with a luminescent substance (13) which is subjected to an electric voltage from the power source to which it is electrically connected by means of a flexible electrical connection (30, 31, 32). The aforementioned electrical connection is formed by a second part (30") of the flexible, insulating support (30), which is used as a substrate for at least two conductor tracks (31, 32). The invention can be used to produce a very flat indicator with a minimum of parts.

There are provided methods for separating iron ions from aluminum ions contained in an acidic composition. The methods comprise reacting the acidic composition with a basic aqueous composition having a pH of at least 10.5 so as to obtain a precipitation composition, maintaining the precipitation composition at a pH above 10.5 so as to cause precipitation of the iron ions, at least substantially preventing precipitation of the aluminum ions, and to obtain a mixture comprising a liquid portion and a solid portion; and separating the liquid portion from the solid portion. There are also provided methods for treating an acidic composition comprising iron ions and aluminum ions. Such methods can be useful for preparing products such as alumina, aluminum, hematite etc.

The inventive indicator comprises a dial provided with indication marks (9, 10) and a pointer which is rotatably mounted on the axle of a drive motor. Said dial is carried by a support (7) which is provided on the front face thereof with a volume piece (14) which is partially translucent and produces a three-dimensional effect for a front view of certain marks (9) of the dial (8). Said invention can be used for the panel boards of a motor vehicle.
