Toy raceways and finish line apparatuses for toy raceways are disclosed. Toy raceways may include a plurality of hingedly coupled multi-lane track segments, a starting apparatus, and a finish line apparatus. The plurality of hingedly coupled multi-lane track segments may be configured to foldably transition between a first configuration and a second configuration. In the first configuration, the plurality of hingedly coupled multi-lane track segments may be aligned to provide a multilane toy raceway, which may have a first end and a second end. In the second configuration, the plurality of hingedly coupled multi-lane track segments may produce a stack of folded track segments. The starting apparatus may be disposed proximate the first end of the toy raceway, and the finish line apparatus may be disposed proximate the second end of the toy raceway.

An advanced imaging spectrograph system (10) includes an electrophoresis device (12), an optical imaging device (14), and a processor (16), configured to provide for slab-gel DNA sequencing and genotyping with high throughput sequencing. The system is based on the integration of improved electrophoresis structures with an imaging spectrophotometer that records the entire emission spectra along an imaging line across a sequencing gel (or capillary array). In one embodiment, the electrophoresis device (12) includes a large number of parallel lanes (18) formed in an electrophoresis gel (20) which is sandwiched between two flat rectangular glass plates (22). The system includes spectral shape matching to improve dye identification allowing the use of dyes having nearly any emission spectra and allowing greater than four dye multiplexing.

The playset has at least two configurations including a closed configuration and an open configuration that is suitable for play.
