摘要: A light engine assembly that includes a LED (54) having a standard preselected output. The light engine assembly accepts a light guide into the assembly. The assembly includes a two-sided PCB (40), one side of which is a heat sink to reduce heat build-up on the board and the other side (42) of which is a circuit that provides power to a LED (54) positioned on the board (40). The circuit includes a connector (46) for connection to a power supply and circuitry that regulates the current supplied to the LED (54), which is housed on the PCB (40). The assembly further includes a housing (30) for the PCB (40) that carries the PCB (40) while protecting it from damage. The housing (30) permits ventilation for cooling the board (40). The housing (30) also includes a light guide holder barrel (32), which has a substantially square cross-section and is open at one end. The light guide holder barrel (32) accepts a light guide having a substantially circular cross-section, the light guide contacting the light guide holder barrel (32) in four positions, the light guide transmitting light from the LED (54) when the LED (54) is energized. The light guide can be rotated in any position and inserted into the light guide holder barrel (32) to allow light to be transmitted in any preselected direction by the user.

摘要: An LED light pipe assembly (10) includes a light pipe; a heat sink portion (20); an LED mounted on a substrate in optical communication with the light pipe; and a carrier portion (16) for receiving the light pipe and providing electrical interconnections to the LED. The heat sink portion (20) includes a plurality of fins (22) and a plurality of hollow frame portions (23) configured to dissipate heat generated by the light pipe assembly (10). Attachment features are provided on the heat sink (20) for attaching the heat sink (20) to the carrier portion (16). The heat sink portion (20) also includes a hollow cavity for receiving the substrate. The carrier portion (16) is insertable into the cavity in abutting relation with the substrate to secure the substrate in contact against the heat sink (20).

摘要: A mounting assembly (10) for supporting an LED (28) in a lighting fixture. A first substrate (16) containing the LED (28) has contact pads (19) in electrical communication with the LED (28). A contact carrier (13) has a plurality of contacts (36) that correspond with the contact pads (19) of the first substrate (16). A second substrate (20) has electronic components (23, 42) to power the LED (28). A first contact arrangement on the second substrate (20) engages the integral electrical contact portions (36) of the contact carrier (13), and a second contact arrangement provides external connections to the electronic components (23, 42). A heat sink portion (18) is engaged in thermal contact with the contact carrier (13) and the first substrate (16). The heat sink portion (18) includes finned members (31) for dissipation of heat generated by the LED (28) disposed within the heat sink portion (18). A slot (33) is provided in the heat sink projecting axially of the heat sink portion (18), for receiving and securing the second substrate (20).

摘要: A light emitting diode (LED) verification system is provided having a mounting module for securing an LED board for testing. The mounting module includes a thermal management system for controlling the temperature of the LED board. A mounting plate is provided for centering the LED board. A clamp is provided for securing the LED board. A hood is positioned over the mounting module. The hood has a top and a base. The mounting module is positioned at the base of the hood. The mounting plate centers the LED board with respect to a centerline of the hood. A light meter is positioned at the top of the hood and centered with respect to the centerline of the hood. The light meter measures light emitted from the LED board.

The at least one light-emitting device (10) is positioned in recess on the base (20) and is received in a light-emitting device receiving opening on the cover (50). Latches are provided on the cover (50) and extend into cover mounting openings of the base (20) to latch the cover (50) to the base (20). The base (20) has a first contact strip and a second contact strip. The first contact strip and the second contact strip have contact ends which extend beyond first and second ends of the base (20). The contact ends of one assembly (2) may engage the contact ends of a second assembly to provide the assemblies in electrical engagement.

摘要: An oven lighting fixture (10) includes an LED assembly (12) of assemblies optically coupled with an optical guide member (14). The lighting fixture (10) also includes a mounting bracket (30) and a pair of electrical leadwires to connect the LED lighting fixture to an external voltage source. The LED assembly (12) has an LED attached to a printed circuit board containing ancillary circuitry for powering the LED, and a heat sink for removing heat from the LED. The mounting bracket has a slot adjacent to a sidelight window for transmitting light from the LED through the light guide (14) and into the oven cavity. Positioning the lighting fixture (10) outside of the oven cavity permits the LED to operate within required temperature limits.

摘要: A socket assembly (10) includes sockets (12) ganged together to form a pod (14) with each of the sockets (12) comprising a socket housing (18) having a first end (22) and a second end (24). The socket housing (18) has a receptacle (32) and a power track routed along the socket housing (18) between the first and second ends (22, 24). The power track has a positive rail and a negative rail. The sockets (12) also comprises an anode on the socket housing (18) at the receptacle (32) being electrically connected to the positive rail and a cathode on the socket housing (18) at the receptacle (32) being electrically connected to the negative rail. The power tracks of adjacent sockets (12) within the pod (14) are electrically connected together to form a power circuit. Light emitting diode (LED) packages (20) are received in corresponding receptacles (32) of the sockets (12), and each LED package (20) has a first contact and a second contact configured to be coupled to the anode and cathode, respectively, when the LED package (20) is received in the corresponding receptacle (32). Each LED package (20) has a base (34) and an LED (36) mounted to the base (34) and being electrically connected to the first and second contacts. Optionally, the anode may be electrically connected to the positive rail via at least one of the other sockets (12). The cathode may be electrically connected to the negative rail via at least one of the other sockets (12).

摘要: A light-emitting device assembly (2) which can be used in many applications has a contact carrier, at least one light-emitting device (10), a heat sink and at least one securing member (300). The contact carrier has a light-emitting device receiving region and resilient contacts which are provided proximate to the light-emitting device receiving region. The at least one light-emitting device (10) has leads which extend therefrom to mechanically and electrically engage the resilient contacts. The heat sink is thermally coupled to the at least one light-emitting device (10). The at least one securing member (300) extends through the contact carrier and into the heat sink to releasably retain the contact carrier and the at least one light-emitting device (10) in position relative to each other and relative to the heat sink.
