Abstract: A fluid injector (4-2) for 'an exhaust treatment device (40) is disclosed. The fluid injector may have a housing (70) at least partially forming a fluid chamber (98). The housing may have a central axis (90), and a fluid passagewa (80) configured to supply fluid to the fluid chamber. The supply of fluid may be in a tangential direction relative to the central axis. The injector (42) can provide mixing with pressurized air and can be used to regenerate a particulate trap (53).

Abstract: An injector cleaning system (13) for use with an exhaust treatment device is disclosed. The injector cleaning system may have a supply of injection fluid (64) and an injector (52) configured to receive and inject the injection fluid. The injector cleaning system may also have a pressure sensor (60) associated with the injector to generate a signal indicative of the pressure of the injection fluid supplied to the injector. The injector cleaning system may further have a controller (62) in communication with the injector and the pressure sensor. The controller may be configured to determine a pressure decay rate of injection fluid supplied to the injector during a normal injection event based on the signal. The controller may be further configured to compare the determined pressure decay rate to an expected pressure decay rate, and supply cleaning fluid to the injector based on the comparison.

Abstract: A method of purging fuel supply components for a combustion chamber of a regeneration assembly (36) is disclosed. A regeneration cycle is performed during which fuel is supplied from a fuel source (22) to the combustion chamber with fuel supply components including a fuel supply circuit (48) and at least one fuel injector unit (40). At least a first purging cycle is initiated to purge residual fuel from the fuel supply components. During the purging cycle, a flow of purging gas is directed to the at least one fuel injector unit (40) to purge residual fuel from the at least one fuel injector unit (40).
