Abstract:
The present application describes systems, articles of manufacture, and methods for continuous speech recognition for mobile computing devices. One embodiment includes determining whether a mobile computing device is receiving operating power from an external power source or a battery power source, and activating a trigger word detection subroutine in response to determining that the mobile computing device is receiving power from the external power source. In some embodiments, the trigger word detection subroutine operates continually while the mobile computing device is receiving power from the external power source. The trigger word detection subroutine includes determining whether a plurality of spoken words received via a microphone includes one or more trigger words, and in response to determining that the plurality of spoken words includes at least one trigger word, launching an application corresponding to the at least one trigger word included in the plurality of spoken words.
Abstract:
A wireless mesh network includes a plurality of wireless devices and a gateway organized in a multi hop mesh topology. Each wireless device maintains and reports radio statistics to the gateway, and also reports battery conditions of its power source. The device manager communicates with the gateway and provides an alert indicating existence of a pinch point within the mesh network based upon the radio statistics. When a low battery condition is reported by a device, the device manager determines whether loss of that device is a pinch point or will cause a pinch point, and provides a low battery alert prioritized based upon the pinch point analysis.
Abstract:
A process for manufacturing a berley composition is disclosed. The process includes mofifying proteins and/or polypeptides by reacting a modifying agent with the proteins and/or polypeptides to form said berley composition comprising a protein modified mixture. A berley composition comprising a protein modified mixture is also disclosed. Also disclosed are a process of preparing a berley/bait for marine vertebrates and/or marine invertebrates, a method of attracting marine vertebrates and/or marine invertebrates, a method of increasing the weight of marine vertebrates and/or marine invertebrates, a method of increasing the metabolic rate of marine vertebrates and/or marine invertebrates, a method of increasing the growth rate of marine vertebrates and/or marine invertebrates, a method of increasing the feeding response of marine vertebrates and/or marine invertebrates, a method of increasing the sexual behaviour of marine vertebrates and/or marine invertebrates, a method of increasing the aggressive behaviour of marine vertebrates and/or marine invertebrates and a method of increasing the stress response behaviour of marine vertebrates and/or marine invertebrates.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a surface tension modifier for use in liquid curable composite materials, wherein the modifier is the reaction product between a polyol and an organo-functional silane. The present invention also relates to a method for producing a fibre reinforced composite material, and a fibre reinforced composite material when produced by the method. The method comprises the steps of contacting a plurality of reinforcing fibres with a curable resin mixture and curing the curable resin mixture, wherein the curable resin mixture comprises a curable resin and a predetermined quantity of the surface tension modifier of the invention. The present invention further relates to a method of improving wettability of a resin and use of the surface tension modifier of the invention.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to the preparation of composite moulds and methods of preparing the same, wherein the composite moulds may be prepared exclusive or inclusive of a plug. Certain composites comprise a substrate, a structural laminate, and a syntactic foam moulding product.
Abstract:
Low carbon steel strip (20) cast continuously by a twin roll strip caster comprising casting rolls (16) is treated as it comes from the caster and while it is in line with the caster by a) cooling in a first cooler (111) to a temperature at which austenite in the steel transforms to ferrite and/or other low temperature products, b) reheating in furnace (112) to a temperature not greater than 1200 DEG C at which ferrite and/or other low temperature phases in the strip are retransformed to austenite, and c) recooling in cooler (113) to retransform austenite in the strip to ferrite. The strip may be passed through reduction rolls (114, 115) to reduce its thickness before it is cooled for the first time.
Abstract:
Steel with ultrafine grains is produced by altering the transformation from one which normally proceeds with grain boundary nucleation followed by intragranular nucleation at deformation bands and other defects, to one which induces a substantially instantaneous transformation homogeneously over the austenite grain. This is favoured by a reduction or minimisation of grain boundary nucleation, (for example by enlargement of the austenite grain size), prior to or during the transformation. In an embodiment, a partially cooled austenite phase steel is deformed in a single pass at a temperature in the range of 700-950 DEG C to obtain ferrite grain size of 5 mu m or less.
Abstract:
A computing device may receive an incoming communication and, in response, generate a notification that indicates that the incoming communication can be accessed using a particular application on the communication device. The computing device may further provide an audio signal indicative of the notification and automatically activate a listening mode. The computing device may receive a voice input during the listening mode, and an input text may be obtained based on speech recognition performed upon the voice input. A command may be detected in the input text. In response to the command, the computing device may generate an output text that is based on at least the notification and provide a voice output that is generated from the output text via speech synthesis. The voice output identifies at least the particular application.
