Abstract: A sliding seat mechanism for a vehicle seat comprises transversely spaced fixed floor runners (10, 12) within which slide co-operating seat runners (14, 16) fixed to the underneath of the seat. Respective pivotally mounted latches (22, 40) are carried by the seat runners (14, 16) for latching engagement within apertures in respective floor runners (10, 12). The latches are movable from their latched to their unlatched positions by means of respective release levers (58, 60) which are themselves biased to an inoperative position in which the latch members are movable from their unlatched to their latched positions independent of the release levers.

Abstract: In the field of vehicle seats there is a need for an improved vehicle seat back tilt adjustment assembly that allows a user selectively to make small or large adjustments to the inclination of a vehicle seat back. A vehicle seat back tilt adjustment assembly comprises a guide member (22) securable to a vehicle body; and an intermediate mechanism (26) moveably coupled to the guide member (22). The intermediate mechanism (26) includes first and second locking elements (28, 30). The first locking element (28) is moveable between a first configuration in which it is engagable with a vehicle seat back (14) to secure the seat back to the intermediate mechanism (26) and a second configuration in which the seat back (14) is disengagable therefrom to allow the seat back to move independently of the intermediate mechanism. The second locking element (30) selectively engages the guide member (22) to secure the position of the intermediate mechanism (26) relative to the guide member.
