    Abstract: A torque sensor (10) including a shaft (14) that receives an applied torque (12) is disclosed. The shaft includes a magnetoelastic region (22) generates a non-negligible magnetic field responsive to the applied torque and one or more null regions (24, 26, 28) that each generates a negligible magnetic field. The torque sensor includes a plurality of null region sensors (70, 72, 74) proximal a null region that generate a null region magnetic field measure corresponding to a magnitude of an ambient magnetic field. The torque sensor includes a magnetoelastic region sensor (66, 68) proximal the magnetoelastic region that generates a magnetoelastic region magnetic field measure corresponding to the magnitude of the ambient magnetic field and a magnitude of the non-negligible magnetic field. The torque sensor includes a controller (78) coupled to the null region sensors and the magnetoelastic region sensor that calculates a magnitude of the applied torque based on the null region magnetic field measures and the magnetoelastic region magnetic field measure.

    Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for enhancing steering control of a personal watercraft. An electrically actuated device is coupled to the steering system of the personal watercraft and applies torque to the steering system. At least one sensor is positioned adjacent the steering system and generates operational data of the personal watercraft. At least one controller is coupled to the electrically actuated device and the at least one sensor, and is configured to determine a first torque to apply to the steering system based on the operational data responsive to a second torque being applied to the steering system.     Abstract: An override system for a gearshift assembly of a transmission of a vehicle includes a base having an index track including automatic and manual shifting gates and a selection gate extending between the shifting gates. The system also has a bi-stable shift lever coupled to a controller and pivotally mounted to the base and moveable within the index track across the selection gate between a first and second rest position.     Abstract: Systems and methods for determining a speed of a vehicle. The vehicle includes a sensor ring coupled to and rotatable with a propulsion component of the vehicle, and includes a rotation sensor proximate the sensor ring. The rotation sensor generates a first and second signal each corresponding to a rotation of the sensor ring caused by a rotation of the propulsion component. The signals correspond to different magnetic field components. The second signal is more distorted than the first signal, and the distortion is speed dependent. A processor is configured to construct a third signal that is a reconstructed version of the second signal, but derived from the first, less distorted signal. A fourth signal is generated by dividing the third signal by the second signal, the fourth signal being representative of the speed dependent distortion. Finally, the speed of the vehicle is determined based on the fourth signal, using a known relation between its amplitude and the speed.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling a clutch of a vehicle. A rod is coupled to and rotatable with an electric motor in a first direction when the motor is actuated for transitioning the clutch from an engaged configuration to a disengaged configuration. A brake is coupled to the rod. A transition of the clutch from the disengaged configuration to the engaged configuration is initiated, and the rod is rotated in a second direction opposite the first direction responsive to initiating the transition. The brake is applied to the rod using back EMF voltage generated by the motor from the rotation of the rod in the second direction.
