Abstract:
A method is provided of performing a session transfer with Single Radio Voice Call Continuity, SRVCC, from a Packet Switched, PS, access to a Circuit Switched, CS, access of a telecommunications session that has been established over the PS access via an IP Multimedia Subsystem, IMS, network. A request for the transfer of the session is received. An indication of a voice codec that is currently being used for the session is obtained from the IMS network. Allocation of resources for the session in the CS access network is initiated, including specifying the voice codec to be used based on the obtained codec indication. Transfer of the session to the CS access is initiated so that the session continues with use of the specified voice codec.
Abstract:
A method is provided of handing over a priority call with Single Radio Voice Call Continuity, SRVCC. The priority call is handed over from a User Equipment, UE, accessing an IP Multimedia Subsystem, IMS, network via a Circuit Switched, CS, access network to a target Packet Switched, PS, access network thereby establishing a priority IMS session. The priority call has a specified CS priority level. The method includes sending a hand over request from the CS access network towards the PS access network and the IMS network to transfer the priority call. A PS priority level for the session in the PS network is determined based on the specified CS priority level. Bearer resources for the IMS session are allocated. The bearer resources are based, at least in part, on the PS priority level. The call is transferred to the IMS session over the PS access network.
Abstract:
A method of providing an availability of an execution of an Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem voice session via a packet switched capable radio access network of an Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem based communication network (100) with a terminal (102) is described. The communication network (100) comprises a packet switched domain associated with the packet switched capable radio access network. The communication network (100) supports an Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem voice session via the packet switched capable radio access network. The terminal (102) supports an Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem voice session via the packet switched capable radio access network and an Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem emergency voice session via the packet switched capable radio access network. The method is executed by a control node (112) of the packet switched domain (106). The method comprises sending (264) instruction information to the terminal (102). The instruction information instructs the terminal (102) to execute an Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem voice session via the packet switched capable radio access network without regard to whether the communication network (100) having indicated support of an emergency session related data transmission via the packet switched capable radio access network and the packet switched domain (106). The latter enable an improved usage of capabilities of the terminal (102).
Abstract:
A method of locating an emergency voice session anchoring node (212) of a plurality of emergency voice session anchoring nodes in an Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem of a serving communication network (200) for transferring an emergency voice session of a terminal from a packet switched source radio access network (260) of the serving communication network (200) to a target radio access network (278) of the serving communication network (200) associated with a circuit switched domain of the serving communication network (200) is described. The emergency voice session is anchored in the emergency voice session anchoring node (212) and the transferring of the emergency voice session employs voice session continuity. The emergency voice session anchoring node (212) is identified by a node identifier. The method is executed by the emergency voice session anchoring node (212). The method comprises (240) sending the node identifier of the emergency voice session anchoring node (212) towards a control node (206) of the circuit switched domain of the serving communication network (200) for the locating of the emergency voice session anchoring node (212). Thereby, a support of a reliable session transfer of the emergency voice session from the packet switched source radio access network (260) to the target radio access network (278) associated with the circuit switched domain of the serving communication network (200) may be enabled.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for handling a call transfer from a circuit switched access network to a packet switched access network. A Mobile Switching Centre Server receives a notification that a call for a terminal requires handover from a circuit switched access network to a packet switched access network. The MSC Server determines whether the terminal is currently registered in an IMS network and/or whether the MSC Server is registered such that it can perform handover from the circuit switched access network to the packet switched access network. If so, then return Single Radio Voice Call Continuity is invoked to perform a handover of the call from the circuit switched access network to the packet switched access network. If not then the MSC Server invokes error handling procedures.
Abstract:
The embodiments herein relate to a method in a second node (310) in a visited network (300v). The visited network (300v) is visited by a UE (301 ). The second node (310) receives a message comprising subscription information. The subscription information comprises a parameter indicating that the UE (301 ) is allowed to use a multimedia service in the home (300h) or the visited network (300v). The second node (310) selects a serving gateway (308) in the visited network (300v). Based on the parameter, the second node (310) selects a visited PDN gateway (305v), in the visited network (300v) when the UE (301 ) is allowed to use the multimedia service in the visited network (300v). Based on the parameter, the second node (310) selects a home PDN gateway (305h) in the home network (300h) when the UE (301 ) is allowed to use the multimedia service in the home network (300h).
Abstract:
The invention includes methods of using IMS Centralised Services, ICS, in the selection of a service domain relating to a call involving a User Equipment, UE, being served by a CS access network. In one aspect a method includes receiving a request from a routing node, such as a Mobile Switching Centre, MSC, or a Gateway Mobile Switching Centre, GMSC, for a service domain selection at a Service Control Point, SCPin the UE's IMS network (801). The SCP has a Service Domain Selection, SDS, function, which retrieves data relating to the UE from a Domain Selection function (802). Based on the retrieved data, the SDS selects either the IMS service domain or the CS service domain as the service domain for routing the call (803), and sends an indication of the selected service domain to the routing node (805). Other aspects include methods for domain selection at the originating and terminating sides of the call, and network entities configured to carry out the methods.
Abstract:
A technique for handling mobile terminating connection attempts for a mobile terminal for which a change of an association from a first routing node to a second routing node is accompanied by a Circuit Switched (CS) fallback is described. A method implementation of this technique comprises the following steps carried out by the first routing node: receiving a first mobile terminating connection attempt to the mobile terminal, in response to receipt of the first mobile terminating connection attempt, determining that the mobile terminal cannot be reached by the first routing node, determining an identity of the second routing node, and transmitting, to the second routing node, a second mobile terminating connection attempt for a CS connection to the mobile terminal.
Abstract:
Techniques for managing multiple ICS sessions in an IMS network are described. In one method, a MSC server detects that a user terminal has been transferred from a first access network to a second access network and, in response, sends a message to an SCC AS, the message indicating transfer of the user terminal. The MSC server receives, in response, one or more requests for MSC server-assisted mid-call feature services for the user terminal, and assigns transaction identifiers to one or more sessions held for the user terminal or to one or more conference participants corresponding to the user terminal. Corresponding techniques carried out at an SCC AS are also described.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for handing over a call of a mobile entity that is circuit switched attached via a Mobile Switching Center MSC (120) to an I P Multimedia Subsystem IMS, wherein the mobile entity (100) is registered at the IMS. According to the invention, either the MSC or a media gateway act as application function towards a PCRF with the correct IP address of the media gateway.
