Abstract:
A method is provided of performing a session transfer with Single Radio Voice Call Continuity, SRVCC, from a Packet Switched, PS, access to a Circuit Switched, CS, access of a telecommunications session that has been established over the PS access via an IP Multimedia Subsystem, IMS, network. A request for the transfer of the session is received. An indication of a voice codec that is currently being used for the session is obtained from the IMS network. Allocation of resources for the session in the CS access network is initiated, including specifying the voice codec to be used based on the obtained codec indication. Transfer of the session to the CS access is initiated so that the session continues with use of the specified voice codec.
Abstract:
A technique for handling mobile terminating connection attempts for a mobile terminal for which a change of an association from a first routing node to a second routing node is accompanied by a Circuit Switched (CS) fallback is described. A method implementation of this technique comprises the following steps carried out by the first routing node: receiving a first mobile terminating connection attempt to the mobile terminal, in response to receipt of the first mobile terminating connection attempt, determining that the mobile terminal cannot be reached by the first routing node, determining an identity of the second routing node, and transmitting, to the second routing node, a second mobile terminating connection attempt for a CS connection to the mobile terminal.
Abstract:
A mechanism is presented for performing a session transfer with Single Radio Voice Call Continuity, SRVCC, from a Packet Switched, PS, access to a Circuit Switched, CS, access of a telecommunications session that has been established over the PS access via an IP Multimedia Subsystem, IMS, network. The method includes receiving a request for the transfer of the session to the CS access. An indication of an already- seized media gateway, MGW, that has been established for use in one or more other sessions over the CS access is obtained from the IMS network. A MGW is selected as a Mobile-Media Gateway, M-MGW, for the session based on the obtained indication. Allocation of resources for the session in the CS access network is initiated, including specifying the MGW to be used as the Mobile-Media Gateway, M-MGW. Transfer of the session to the CS access is then initiated.

Abstract:
A technique for coordinating the registration of a terminal (UE) in circuit-switched (CS) and packet-switched (PS) domains of a multi-operator core network (MOCN) with multiple core networks (CN) is described. According to a method approach, a notification message indicating the necessity of coordinated CS and PS registrations for a terminal (UE) is received from a first core network (CN). In a next step, and based on a global permanent identity (IMSI) associated with the terminal (UE), a second core network (CN) responsible for CS and PS registrations is determined. A registration message for coordinated CS and PS registrations is then sent to the second core network (CN) that has been determined based on the global permanent identity (IMSI).
Abstract:
It is presented a method for a femtocell base station, for facilitating communication between a communication terminal and a core network. The method comprises the steps, performed in the femtocell base station, of: sending a first femtocell base station message to the communication terminal; receiving a first terminal message from the communication terminal, the first terminal message comprising a first sequence number; and repeatedly sending further femtocell base station messages to the communication terminal and receiving corresponding terminal messages, comprising incremented sequence numbers, from the communication terminal, such that an expected next terminal message from the communication terminal comprises a sequence number being equal to the first sequence number. A corresponding femtocell base station, computer program and computer program product are also presented.
Abstract:
A method (500) for routing a terminating call (102) to a user equipment (104) via a first control node (106) for controlling the call (102), wherein the user equipment (104) is attached to a second control node (108) which is adapted to provide routing information. The method (500) comprises determining (504), by the second control node (108), if the user equipment (104) is attached to the second control node (108) over a third control node (110), wherein the attachment over the third control node (110) indicates that call control shall be performed by a specific service domain (112). Based on the determining (504), the provided routing information is selected (506) by the second control node (108), wherein the routing information indicates to the first control node (106) if the further call establishment to the user equipment (104) is controlled either by the second control node (108) or by the third control node (110). The call is then routed (508), by the first control node (106), according to the selected routing information.
Abstract:
The invention refers to supporting a communication established between a first mobile terminal (18) towards a telecommunications network (1), the telecommunications network (1) comprising a first radio access network (13) and a second radio access network (14) and an application server (10), wherein the application server performs the steps of receiving an identifier that a session setup was initiated with respect to the first mobile terminal (18), wherein the identifier is adapted to identify the session, entering the identifier into an identifier list comprising one or a plurality of a identifiers for identifying sessions with respect to the first mobile terminal (18), receiving an indication of a session transfer form the first radio access network (13) to the second radio access network (14) or vice versa, and providing the identifier list in response to the indication. The invention further refers to an application server (10) and corresponding computer program.
Abstract:
The invention relates to techniques for terminating a call to a user in a mobile telecommunication network having a circuit switched CS access and service execution centralized in IP Multimedia Subsystem IMS. It is proposed to send the IMSI number of the user to the IMS during a registering of the user in the IMS, preferably with the SIP REGISTER message. Further when a call terminating request is received in the IMS, a SIP INVITE is generated and the IMSI number is provided to the MSC Server. The MSC server contacts the VLR for the purpose of call termination and in case the user is not found in the VLR, a restoring procedure is performed by contacting a HLR using the IMSI number and by providing the user's data to the VLR. The restoring procedure may be performed by means of the MAP restore procedure.
