Abstract: A metering valve (1) for a pressurised dispensing container comprising a metering chamber (5); an inlet (9) to the metering chamber and a separate outlet (10) to the metering chamber; one or more sealing members (7, 8) for sealing the inlet (9) to the metering chamber (5) and the outlet (10) to the metering chamber (5). The one or more sealing members (7, 8) are static and the metering chamber (5) is rotatable between a first position, in which the inlet (9) to the metering chamber is open and the outlet (10) to the metering chamber is closed, and a second position, in which the inlet (9) to the metering chamber is closed and the outlet (10) to the metering chamber is open.

Abstract: A metered dose inhaler apparatus, for dispensing a metered dose of a medicinal formulation. The apparatus (200) comprises a housing (201, 202), for receiving a dispensing container (2') of medicinal formulation; a valve actuation means (206), for supplying an electrical actuation signal; and a valve actuator (204), operably-connectable to said dispensing container, for receiving the electrical actuation signal and providing actuation of said dispensing container.
