Abstract:
A method and arrangement for reducing the weight and optimizing the longitudinal strength of a water-craft (1), which is especially suitable for transportation of liquefied natural gas (LNG) or other corresponding mediums and comprises a hull (2), which has a deck (3) extending over at least the main part of the water-craft (1) and a number of substantially spherical cargo tanks (4) arranged successively in the longitudinal direction (A) of the water-craft (1) and a deckhouse (5), which extend substantially above the said deck (3). The hull (2) of the water-craft (1) is provided with a continuous protective casing structure (6) known as such and which is arranged on top of the cargo tanks (4). The said deck (3) of the water-craft is arranged on the hull (2) so that the proportion of its height measured from the bottom of the water-craft to the height of the uppermost continuous portion of the protective casing structure (6) on top of the cargo tanks (4) is at most 0,55, preferably at most 0,5. In addition said protective casing structure (6) is fixed to said deck (3) and/or other structures (7) supported to the hull (2) and is dimensioned together with the other parts of the hull (2) so that together they constitute an essential part of the overall strength of the water-craft.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a system in a water-craft or a section thereof or in another structure or a section thereof (1) for providing furnishings at least partially, which system comprises a number of prefabricated room units (2a, 2b, 2c) and a water-craft or a section thereof or another structure or a section thereof (1), and which system comprises one or several room units (2a, 2b, 2c) to be inserted into the water-craft or a section thereof or other structure or a section thereof (1), and which system comprises room units (2a, 2b, 2c), the exterior side portion (9) of which forms a part of the outboard (3) of the water-craft or a section thereof or other structure or a section thereof (1) and/or the interior side portion (10) forms a part of the open inner section (12) of the water-craft or a section thereof or other structure or a section thereof. Moreover, the invention relates to a method for providing furnishings at least partially in the system according to the claims, which system comprises a water-craft or a section thereof or another structure or a section thereof (1) and at least one prefabricated room unit (2a), according to which method at least one room unit (2a) is inserted into the water-craft or a section thereof or another structure or a section thereof (1) and moved on the water-craft or a section thereof or other structure or a section thereof (1) into its predetermined position (8a).
Abstract:
The invention relates to an arrangement for steering a water-craft (1), which comprises at least one main propulsion device (3, 3a, 3b, 11, 11a, 11b, 11c), which is arranged to push the water-craft (1) forward or backward, and a number of steering propulsion devices (2), the pushing direction of which can be changed. The steering propulsion devices (2) are arranged in the aft of the water craft (1) on both sides of the said at least one main propulsion device (3, 3a, 3b, 11, 11a, 11b, 11c) so that the steering of the water-craft (1) is continuously provided by means of the steering propulsion devices (2) without any separate rudder means of the like to be functionally connected to said at least one main propulsion device (3, 3a, 3b, 11, 11a, 11b, 11c).
Abstract:
The invention relates to an arrangement and a method for collecting oil from water in open water and/or winter conditions, whereby a vessel’s (1) hull (2) and an oil collecting equipment (4) are utilized as an oil collector. According to the invention, the oil collecting equipment (4) is attached to the vessel’s (1) hull (2) and it is equipped with an auxiliary device (7), which comprises at least two auxiliary means (10a,b) which are interconnected so that they are movable with respect to each other. The auxiliary means (10a,b) can be utilized in various ways in different conditions.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a steering and propulsion arrangement in a large ship suited for transoceanic traffic, which arrangement comprises a number of propulsion devices situated partly at the rear and partly at the forebody of the ship. The forebody of the ship is provided with one or more steerable rudder propeller devices, which are arranged so as to substantially provide the steering and control of the ship, to produce a substantial part of the propulsive force pushing the ship forward at least substantially within all speed ranges, and in addition, arranged so that they do not extend, at least not significantly, below the base line of the ship.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method of cutting a sheet-like piece into one or several smaller pieces by using camera means and a controllable cutting apparatus, the directions and values of the coordinate systems of which are calibrated to correspond to each other. In the method following measures are taken: the piece to be cut is placed on a cutting surface located within the recording area of the camera means, the piece is photographed by the camera means and on the basis thereof the outlines of the piece are determined and the information on the outlines of the piece is input into the positioning system, where the cutting paths are established and input into the control system of the cutting device, which determines necessary parameters for the cutting and on the basis of these, controls the cutting of the piece into parts according to given instructions.
