    Abstract: The invention relates to a hysteresis coupling or brake, comprising a drive part 1 which is equipped with an annular hysteresis material 6 and a driven part 7 which is concentrically arranged in relation to the drive part 1 and equipped with permanent magnets 28, wherein between the hysteresis material 6 and the permanent magnet 28 an annular air gap 47 is formed and the drive part 1 is designed as a crucible-shaped flange. The rolling bearing 30 is fastened to the inner wall 3 of said flange, and the permanent magnets 28 and the hysteresis material 6 are arranged radially outside of the rolling bearing 30. The hysteresis coupling or brake is completely or partially surrounded and thus the space between the permanent magnets and the hysteresis material is sealed by rotary shaft seals or gap seals and is protected against influences from the outside.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a circuit for operating a coil of an electrically liftable safety brake, to be connected to AC inputs having different (preferably single-phase) operating voltages. Said circuit comprises: a rectifier circuit which is connected to the input terminals and is used for generating a periodically changing direct voltage; output terminals for supplying the direct voltage generated by the rectifier to a coil; one or more electronic valves/switches for switching the direct current on or off anytime; preferably a freewheeling diode that is connected to the output terminals in order to keep the current flowing through the coil during the off-state interval of the electronic valve/switch; a control loop which is connected to the output terminals and measures the direct voltage applied to the coil or calculates or derives said direct voltage from other measured voltages (e.g. input voltage, voltage of the intermediate circuit, valve/switch voltage, etc.) and triggers the electronic valve/switch in such a way that the direct voltage applied to the coil remains constant; and a mechanical/electronic switch in the power supply to the coil in order to interrupt and quickly switch off the free-wheeling circuit.

    Abstract: The invention relates to an electromagnetic spring pressure brake comprising a coil carrier (1) provided with a coil (2) fixed therein for ventilating the brake, and a co-operating armature disk (3) which is axially pushed away from pressure springs (12) arranged on the periphery, by said pressure springs, and is axially guided on bolts (13). The invention is characterised in that the form and the material of the coil carrier (1) are optimised in terms of weight and magnetic flux with the coil (2) contained therein. The aim of the invention is to obtain a high level of torque with a small structure and to structurally integrate the brake into a very narrow region e.g. a robot arm. To this end, light materials such as aluminium and thin disks are used, but magnetic and friction properties must be maintained in order to achieve a high level of torque.
