Abstract: Lifting module with an envelope (11) for storing a lifting fluid (Gl) and with a flexible, gas-tight membrane (12) partially extending inside the envelope (11). The membrane (12) is arranged so that the envelope (11) together with the membrane (12) defines a first compartment (Cl) and a second compartment (C2) inside. A valve (24) is provided for inserting lifting fluid (Gl) into said first compartment (Cl) and a fluid inlet is provided for inserting a ballast fluid (G2). The module (10) further comprises means for introducing the ballast fluid (G2) through the fluid inlet into the second compartment (C2). The module (10) further comprises a first engine, which is positionable in a first and in a second position. The first engine (21) is accomplished as a conveying means for introducing ballast fluid (G2) into said second compartment (C2) when positioned in its first position. When positioned in its second position, the first engine (21) is accomplished as propulsion means for providing thrust with respect to an ambient fluid (G3) in which said module (10) is floating.

Abstract: Relates to a lifting module (1) comprising : an envelope (2) with an inside surface (3) and an outside surface (4); a flexible membrane (5), comprising an upper surface (6) and a lower surface (7), extending inside said envelope (2) and being arranged so that said envelope (2) together with said flexible membrane (5) define a first compartment (C1) and a second compartment (C2) inside the envelope (2); a valve (8) for inflating or deflating lifting fluid (Gl) into or from said first compartment (C1); and a fluid inlet (9) and conveying means (10) for inflat- ing or deflating a second fluid (G2) through said fluid inlet (9) into or from said second compartment (C2). The lifting module (1) is characterized in that said envelope (2) is of essentially spherical shape with a zenith pole (11), a base pole (12), and a diameter (13) there between; the envelope (2) and the flexible membrane (5) comprising a mutual circular connection site (14), which is arranged in a distance (15) to the base pole ( 12) of the envelope (2), said distance (15) being equal or less than 33% of the diameter (13) of the envelope (2) and said flexible membrane (5) assuming, when the second compartment (C2) is empty, the shape of a spherical calotte with a calotte height that is essentially equal to said distance (15). The lifting module (1) is further characterized in that the inside surface (3) of the envelope (2) that partially encloses the first compartment (C1) and the upper surface (6) of the flexible membrane (5) comprise a common cover layer (16) that is tight for the lifting fluid (Gl) and in that the envelope (2) that partially encloses the second compartment (C2) comprises a coating layer (17) that is tight for the second fluid (G2).
