The communication device comprises an application (302), a trusted file system service (316), a trusted agent (318) and a trusted content renderer (320). The application (302) requests performance of an action for the protected content (306). The trusted file system service (316) identifies the protected content (306) to the application (302). The trusted agent (318) identifies rights associated with the protected content (306) to the application (302). The trusted content renderer (320) performs the action in response to determining that the application (302) is an untrusted application having sufficient rights to perform the action.

Abstract: Fast call set-up for a call to a multi-mode communication unit (102) is facilitated by a method and apparatus for registering and re-registering priorities with a SIP registrar (111). A list of contacts with first priorities associated with a mode of operation in a first enterprise network (106) is established and used. A switch to second priorities is made when a probability of a switch from the first mode of operation to a second mode of operation in a second cellular network (108) satisfies a threshold. The list of contacts includes a contact having an expiration time for the first mode of operation. A quality factor is determined and the list of contacts is re-registered and the expiration time changed if the quality factor does not satisfy a threshold.

Abstract: A method for selection of content on a device allows a radio to scan (406) for desired (e.g. audio) selections being broadcast in accordance with a defined priority list that has been pre-stored (404). A found selection is played (408) in order of priority and then placed back (410) in the priority list in accordance with a prioritization logic. Desired content is identified by a digital signature or audio clip, for example. Associated with the identifier can be user interface settings (400), such as audio controls, and even vehicle settings such as window position, sun roof, moon roof, or convertible roof top, for example. The user interface can be used to store (402) and sort identifiers and to provide control settings to the user in audio or video format.
