Abstract:
The present invention comprises a method of concentrating a composition comprising a polypeptide of interest and the use of such a concentrated composition for the treatment of diseases in mammals, in particular by subcutaneous injection.
Abstract:
An apparatus for diagnosing the presence of venous disease in the lower extremities of a patient comprises a support for supporting the patient in an upright sitting position and a recumbent sitting position and plethysmographic means applicable to a distal leg portion. The support is disposed displaceable between these positions in either of which it can be secured. A corresponding method is also disclosed.

At least one heating means (9) is arranged to said exhaust line (6) between said two sterile filters (8a, 8b) in order to vaporize condensate that develops between the filters. Furthermore, it is disclosed a sterilization process for sterilization of media, equipment and/or decontamination of waste material, a vaporizing system (12) of a sterilization device and use of such a vaporizing system (12) in a sterilization device.

Abstract:
The invention relates to adjusting an input signal level of a Sigma-Delta converter (1020). A control signal (S AGC,control ) indicative of an input signal level to said Sigma-Delta converter (1020) is generated, and the input signal level to said Sigma-Delta converter (1020) is adjusted in dependence of said control signal (S AGC,control )- The control signal (S AGC,control ) is generated as a signal indicating an operating condition of said Sigma-Delta converter (1020). In this way, internal signals from the Sigma-Delta converter can be used to determine the state of the Sigma-Delta converter, i.e. whether it is operating within its operational input range or not, and whether it is close to the limits of the operational input range. This provides a simple, but accurate guidance of an automatic gain control upstream of the Sigma-Delta converter.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a cell line including a first reporter gene arranged to express an assayable first gene product, expression of the first reporter gene being AP-1 mediated, and a second reporter gene arranged to express a second assayable gene product, expression of the second reporter gene being mediated by NFλB. Thus the present invention provides a convenient one cell line-based assay system which can be used to rapidly test a large number of compounds for potential anti-inflammatory activity. According to a further aspect of the invention there is provided a method of testing a compound for both AP1 and NFλB inhibitory activity, the method comprising providing cells in accordance with the first aspect of the invention, stimulating AP1 and NFλB activity in the cells and contacting the cells with the compound to be tested and monitoring expression of the first and second gene products wherein inhibition of AP1 expression of the first gene product, and inhibition of NFλB mediated expression of the second gene product is indicative that the compound has both AP1 and NFλB-inhibitory activity.

Abstract:
Synchronous and asynchronous data traffic over multipoint adhoc telecommunication networks is scheduled in frames, and bandwidth in such networks is allocated based on packet type and traffic by a scheduler that points to frame descriptors, or data structures, that define where data is located, what packet type to use for the transmission, etc. The scheduling of reception is implicit, viz., there is always a transmit/receive descriptor pair. The same scheduler can schedule traffic in interconnected networks in which there is a participant, even if the networks are unsynchronized to one another, and the scheduler can schedule connection-setup actions, such as page and inquiry. The scheduler can also schedule non-actions, or inactivity, such as "no operation" and "sleep".

Abstract:
The invention provides a cell line including a first reporter gene arranged to express an assayable first gene product, expression of the first reporter gene being AP-1 mediated, and a second reporter gene arranged to express a second assayable gene product, expression of the second reporter gene being mediated by the glucocorticoid receptor (GR). The invention also provides a method of testing a compound for glucocorticoid-like activity comprising providing cells in accordance with the first aspect of the invention, stimulating AP1 activity in the cells and contacting the cells with the compound and monitoring expression of the first and second gene products.
