Abstract: An apparatus for applying paint to an object, or substrate, the apparatus comprising: a paint head (8), a motion system (110) carrying the paint head (8), the paint head (8) comprising: a nozzle support member (72) comprising a paint feed duct (80) and a nozzle holder (56), the nozzle holder (56) comprising one or more nozzles (50), a nozzle selector (52), and a mechanical transmission (501) between the nozzle selector (52) and the nozzle holder (56). A method of applying paint to a substrate, comprising: providing a nozzle on a rotatable nozzle holder in a painting position relative to the substrate and feeding paint through the nozzle while moving the nozzle holder relative to the substrate. A controller operable to control the apparatus for applying paint to a substrate.
