The invention relates to a system and a method for data storage means (FS) comprising a set of data storage sub-assemblies (1001-1722) and being connectable to storage control means (SC, CU) adapted to retrieve, for a plurality of simultaneous user applications', data stored in the data storage means (FS). The method comprises the steps of dividing a data composition (20) into a plurality of payload data subsets (200-295), and storing the payload data subsets (200-295) in the data storage sub-assemblies (1001-1722), the storage control means (SC, CU) being adapted to retrieve, for a user application, the payload data subsets (200-295) in a predetermined retrieving sequence, wherein a sequence of a number of payload data subsets (200-247), are stored in separate data storage sub-assemblies.

The apparatus is adapted to receive a plurality of streaming requests from a plurality of user devices (11a, 11b), the apparatus (1) comprising a control unit (6) adapted to receive media data in the form of a plurality of pay load data sets (9a, 9b) from at least one data source (8), a memory unit (7) adapted to store the payload data sets (9a, 9b), and a streaming unit (3) adapted to stream the payload data sets (9a, 9b) according to the streaming requests. The control unit (6) is adapted to pre-process the payload data sets (9a, 9b) before being stored, whereby control data sets are created, and the streaming unit (3) is adapted to stream the payload data sets (9a, 9b) using the control data sets.

The present invention refers to a method and an apparatus for switching data between a set of input bitstreams and a set of output bitstreams in a circuit switched time division multiplexed network, each of said bitstreams being divided into recurring frames and each of said frames being divided into time slots. According to the invention, each one of said input bitstreams is received, and frames of time slot data from said input bitstreams are temporarily stored in a set of memory means (31-34), each one of said memory means being used for storing frames of a respective bitstream of said input bitstreams. Furthermore, for each frame of each one of said output bitstreams and sequentially in accordance with the order that said time slot data are to be transmitted in the respective output frame, time slot data is selectively read from frames presently temporarily stored in said set of memory means and is then transmitted into allocated time slots of said output bitstreams.

The invention involves a method for simultaneous communication sessions each involving sending a data composition (9a, 9b) to a respective of a plurality of remote units (11a, 11b) through a communication network, the data compositions being stored in a storage unit (7). The method comprises receiving from the storage streams of data composition sub-sets (91a, 92a, 923a, 91b), and providing for each of the sessions a data queue (12a, 12b), and storing data of the streams of data composition sub-sets in the queues. The method further comprises providing acknowledgement pointers (Ack) at the queues, retrieving data portions from the queues and sending streams of the data portions to the respective remote units, receiving streams of acknowledgement data sets (ADS) from the respective remote units, from which acknowledgement data sets reception by the respective remote unit of data portions can be determined, and adjusting, upon receiving the acknowledgement data sets, the acknowledgement pointers at the queues corresponding to the remote units from which the acknowledgement data sets were received.

Disclosed is an apparatus for producing flake ice from a liquid. Said apparatus comprises a stationary, static evaporator (1, 31, 61) that has the shape of a cylinder. At least one cooling medium duct (64, 66, 68) is arranged inside the evaporator. A cooling medium inlet (5, 35, 62) and a cooling medium outlet (6, 36, 63) on one or both faces of the evaporator (1, 31, 61) are used for feeding and discharging the cooling medium to and from the evaporator. The liquid that is to be frozen is applied to the external face of the jacket (2, 32, 67) of the evaporator (1, 31, 61) by means of an application device (8, 38, 69) extending along the external face of the jacket (2, 32, 67). The ice formed on the surface of the evaporator (1, 31, 61) is removed using an ice removing device (11, 41, 72). A drive unit (12, 42, 71) is used for rotating the ice removing device (11, 41, 72) around the external face of the evaporator (1, 31, 61).
