A method for the display of an image in a display area, the method comprising: requesting, from a server, a scrambled image file using an image identifier, the scrambled image file containing the image in a scrambled form; receiving the scrambled image file; dividing the scrambled image file into a plurality of image fragments, the image fragments having a first order within the scrambled image file; and rendering the image fragments on to the display area in a second order derived from the image identifier to display the image in unscrambled form.

The invention relates to a receiver apparatus (1) and a method for controlling the access to at least a portion of a content broadcasted via satellite, wherein said receiver apparatus (1) comprises means for receiving broadcast signals (14) configured for receiving at least a broadcast signal comprising at least a content, means for receiving terrestrial signals (15) configured for receiving at least a terrestrial signal, and processing means (11) configured for determining access information on the basis of at least said received terrestrial signal, and allowing or blocking, on the basis of at least said access information, the access to said at least one content of said broadcast signal.

Systems and methods for collecting audience measurement data using content protection signaling messages while playing back content are disclosed. One embodiment includes receiving content, where content is encrypted using at least one encryption key, receiving a content protection signaling message, where the content protection signaling message is associated with the content and includes a reference timestamp and decryption information associated with the content, processing the content protection signaling message to extract the reference timestamp and the decryption information and generating a message processing timestamp based on the time the content protection signaling message is processed, collecting audience measurement data and saving the audience measurement data into memory, where the audience measurement data includes the reference timestamp and message processing timestamp, recovering at least one decryption key using the decryption information, and decrypting the content using the at least one decryption key.
Abstract:
The specification and drawings present a new method, apparatus and software related product (e.g., a computer readable memory or storage device) for a session-based encryption (e.g., a common-tier encryption) for delivering a content (e.g., video, data, multi-media content and the like) on demand using multiple encryptors. According to an embodiment, the STB's request for a VOD session may be routed by a session resource manager (SRM) to receive content from an appropriate encryptor chosen from multiple encryptors based on a predefined criteria. This approach can minimize a number of encryptions/encryption devices (such as ECM generators) needed in a cable network. However, the simulcrypt encryptor can be also used, if necessary, e.g., when CAS-only encryptors are fully loaded with a traffic.
