Abstract:
A stanchion (20) for an article carrier system (12) comprises a main body member (24) having a cavity (44) extending inwardly of the main body member from a plate (34) . A floor (46) of said cavity includes a first plurality of circumf erentially spaced ramps (45) . The stanchion further includes an arm (54) having an end sized to rotate within the cavity. The cylinder portion (52) of the arm (54) includes a bottom edge (57) that includes a second plurality of circumf erentially spaced ramps (56) . A post (60) is also include in the stanchion and has a first end positioned within the cavity and secured to the arm. The post also has a second end that includes a cleat (63) . The first plurality of ramps and the second plurality of ramps are configured to cooperate to raise and lower the cleat in relation to the main body member when the arm is rotated about the main body member.
Abstract:
The embodiments described herein provide a sealing member and exemplary methods for preventing fluid leaks into a mating body when a low-compression fastener is used by providing a barrier between two mating surfaces. The sealing member (10) comprises a generally ring-shaped body having elastic properties including an upper surface (14) and a lower surface (16). At least one upper bead (22) is disposed on the upper surface. At least one lower bead (24) is disposed on the lower surface. The at least one upper bead (22) is radially offset from the at least one lower bead (24).
Abstract:
An article carrier assembly (10) for attachment to a vehicle roof panel (12) comprises two siderails (14, 16) and at least one cross-rail (181, 20) releasably stowed on one of the siderails. Attachment of the cross-rail to the siderails is carried out with the use of latching mechanisms (22). The mechanism is composed of a stanchion (44) mounted on the cross-rail, with a lever (46) pivotally placed therein, and of a lock plate assembly (48) slidably attached to the siderail. For deployment of the assembly, the stanchion (44) is put on the lock plate assembly (48) which becomes engaged therewith upon turning the lever (46). The structure of the mechanism contributes to preventing the roof panel from being damaged upon the deployment.
Abstract:
A stanchion assembly attached to a vehicle for an article rack includes a support, a cover, and a support flange for connecting the stanchion to a side bar.
Abstract:
A ditch cover assembly, an accessory attachment clip (60), and an interchangeable roof accessory system for a vehicle are disclosed. An accessory attachment clip (60) may generally include an elongated body having a first end (66), a second end (68), and a mid-portion disposed between the first and second ends, at least one securement mechanism disposed along the body for retaining an accessory, and at least one aperture disposed between the first end and the second end operable to receive a fastener to secure the body to the vehicle.
Abstract:
A securement mechanism includes a tie down cleat assembly (10) for engagement with a mating component (12), the tie down cleat assembly (10) including a pin (32), a lock plate (30) adjacent one of the ends (39) of the pin (32), and a housing (17) with an aperture (47) receiving the pin (32). An actuating member (40) is operationally connected to the pin (32) and causes selective movement of the pin (32) and lock plate (30) between a secured and unsecured orientation. The lock plate (30) includes two dimensions, a first dimension (42) permitting the lock plate (30) to be inserted into a channel (14) associated with the mating component (12) and a second dimension (41) permitting the securement of the mating component (12) between the housing (17) and locking plate (30). The pin (32) and locking plate (30) and preferably the housing (17) all rotate as a single unit
