    Abstract: A fuel filter (10) having on the upper surface of a filter case (11) thereof a return passage (25) into which a return fuel discharged from a pressure regulator is supplied. The return passage (25) is closed at a lower portion thereof and has a branch passage (26) provided continuously therewith. Return fuel supplied into the return passage (25) flows down into fuel liquid from the branch passage (26) along a side of the filter case (11). The electric charge on the surface of the filter case is reduced when return fuel flows down along the side of the filter case (11). In addition, the kinetic energy of return fuel is reduced by virtue of the energy absorption action in the return passage (25), the energy dispersion action in the branch passage (26) and the energy absorption action when return fuel flows down along the side of the filter case (11), whereby a noise caused when return fuel falls down into fuel liquid is reduced.
