The present invention relates to a signal directing means (1, 1', 1'', 36) for dividing or combining signals. It comprises a bottom row first port (2), a first row first and second port (3, 4),and a bottom row signal connector (5).The signal directing means (1, 1',1 '', 36) further comprises a first row first and second amplifier (9; 9'; 10; 10'), each first row amplifier (9, 10; 9', 10') having a corresponding first and second terminal (9a, 10a; 9a', 10a'; 9b, 10b; 9b', 10b'), said first terminals (9a, 10a; 9a', 10a') being connected along the bottom row signal connector (5). The signal directing means (1, 1', 1'', 36)also comprises a first row signal connector (11), where said second terminals (9b, 10b; 9b', 10b') are connected along the first row signal connector (11). Abstract:
The invention provides an active circulator for a microwave system. Said microwave system comprises at least one front-end arrangement. Each front-end arrangement comprises a power amplifier function arranged to deliver an amplified output signal via a circulator function to an antenna in a transmit mode. A low noise ampiifier function is arranged to amplify an input signal from the antenna via the circulator function in a receive mode. The circulator function is arranged to direct a signal flow between the transmit and receive modes wherein each front-end arrangement comprises one active circulator. Said active circulator comprises the power ampiifier function, the low noise amplifier function and the circulator function of directing a signal flow, said three functions integrated into one module. The invention also provides a method to manufacture the active circulator.
Abstract:
The invention provides a distributed power amplifier arranged to operate over a bandwidth B . The distributed power amplifier has an input side with an input terminal arranged to receive an input signal and connected to an input transmission line and an output side with an output terminal adapted to deliver an output signal and connected to an output transmission line. A power splitter is connected to the input terminal, thus being arranged to divide the input signal in a first path to the input transmission line and in a second path to an input of an active matching circuit. The active matching circuit has an output connected to the output transmission line, the other end of the output transmission line is connected to the output terminal. The invention also provides a corresponding method to design a distributed power amplifier and to modify existing distributed power amplifiers.
