Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to hair coloring agents and compositions, and methods for improving the quality and durability of color in artificially colored hair. The compositions employ divalent metal salts of inorganic acids, monovalent or divalent metal salts of organic acids, antioxidants, and colorants. Methods are described wherein hair is contacted with the compositions of the present disclosure, resulting in improved artificial color deposition, as well as improved quality and durability of the color in artificially colored hair.
Abstract:
A cervical bone plate includes a graft window that allows access to and/or visualization of a bone graft area of the cervical spine after attachment of the present cervical plate to the vertebrae. The window is preferably, but not necessarily, sized for maximum exposure of the graft area and/or the vertebral body without compromising plate strength, particularly with respect to federal standards for such devices. The window is centrally positioned on the plate and is sized to provide alignment of the plate onto the vertebrae at the base of the vertebra fastener or screw holes of the plate. In a dynamic form of this cervical bone plate, the graft window expands and contracts with respective expansion and contraction of the dynamic plate after attachment to the vertebrae (i.e. "dynamizes"). In another form, a threecomponent dynamic bone plate is configured such that a middle component accepts an identical end component at both ends of the middle component. The end component is a 180° interchangeable part. The middle component and the end component have cooperating configurations and complementarily configured grooves that allow sliding movement between the middle component and the end components. A two-pillar construction provides a central window.
Abstract:
There is described a composite composition comprising a layered mineral and at least one polymer precursor which is substantially miscible therewith; characterised in that:(i) the composition and/or polymer precursor are polymerisible by radiation to form a polymeric composition; and/or (ii)the polymer precursor comprises a polymer obtained and/or obtainable by polymerisation with radiation.Further described are composite compositions comprising a layered mineral and intercalated therein at least one polymer which is further polymerisable by radiation to form a polymeric network, such as a polymeric coating. Preferred minerals are nanoclays such a montmorillonite in which the counter cation comprises a radiation curable organo functional group covalently bonded thereto (e.g. an acrylate functional onium ion).Processes for making the composites are also described.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to color base compositions, as well as methods and kits using same. Certain compositions comprise: (a) about 0.05 to about 10 wt.% of at least one 3-aminopyrazolo[1,5-a]pyridine; (b) from about 0.01 to about 1 wt.% of a reducing agent other than thiolactic acid; (c) from about 0.01 to about 5 wt.% of an ammonia compound; (d) from about 5 to about 10 wt.% of an alkanolamine; (e) from about 0.01 to about 6 wt.% of a carboxylic acid-containing surfactant; and (f) from about 0.01 to about 1 wt.% of an antioxidant.
Abstract:
A stabilization system for a human spine is provided. The stabilization system may include one or more dynamic interbody devices and/or one or more dynamic posterior stabilization systems. The dynamic interbody devices may allow for coupled axial rotation and lateral bending of vertebrae adjacent to the dynamic interbody devices. The dynamic posterior stabilization systems may provide resistance to movement that mimics the resistance provided by a normal functional spinal unit.
Abstract:
Devices, tools and methods for minimally invasive implantation and distraction between spinous processes for treatment of spinous disorders. An interspinous implant device for distracting at least one pair of adjacent spinous processes includes a main body including a shaft having a longitudinal axis; and first and second arms extending transversely from the main body, wherein at least one of the first and second arms is slidably mounted with respect to the shaft. The arms are configured and dimensioned to extend laterally from both sides of the spinous processes when implanted therebetween and to be inserted between the spinous processes laterally from a single side thereof. The arms are variably positionable between a closed configuration, to facilitate insertion of the arms between the adjacent spinous processes, and an open configuration, in which the arms are separated from one another.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a curable PSA made by a solventless single stage polymerisation of the following materials: from about 10% to about 80% by weight of at least one polyol which has molecular weight at least 1000 daltons; from about 0.5% to about 20% at least one poly-isocyanate(s) from about 0.1% to about 10%, by weight of at least one hydroxyl (meth)acrylate(s); from about 10% to about 80% by weight of one or more tackifier resins.
Abstract:
UV curable urethane (meth)acrylate polymers of Formula (1), where: R 1 and R’ are each independently hydrogen or C 1-20 hydrocarbo, R 2 , R' 2 , R 3 and R 4 are each independently optionally substituted divalent organo group, and p is an integer from about 6 to about 100 which are useful as laminating and/or pressure sensitive adhesives are disclosed as is methods of making them. The oligomers/polymers comprise a urethane extended backbone formed by reacting diisocyanates with polyols derived from rubber oligomers/polymers.
Abstract:
A method of manufacturing an integrated lead head suspension flexure of the type having conductors on a spring metal layer (20) capable of being etched by a first etching process. The method includes forming a patterned layer having gaps one or more flying lead regions (50) of dielectric material (24) on a major surface of the spring metal layer (20) and forming one or more conductive leads (40) on the flexure, including onto the dielectric material (24) and over exposed spring metal at the gap at each flying lead region (50). At least the flying lead portion (50) of the conductive lead (40) is formed from conductive material resistant to the first etching process. The method also includes etching a flying lead region (50) of the spring metal layer (20) to remove a portion of the spring metal layer (20) in the flying lead region (50) and expose the flying lead portions (50) of the conductive lead (40).
Abstract:
Method and devices are provided to form virtual switches for data networks. As noted above, the term "switch" as used herein will apply to switches, routers and similar network devices. Each virtual switch acts as a single logical unit, while encompassing at least two physical chassis. Accordingly, each virtual switch may be treated as a single point of management. Each virtual switch includes a master chassis and at least one slave chassis. The master chassis is configured to control the slave chassis. The master chassis includes at least one master supervisor card and the slave chassis includes at least one slave supervisor card. The master chassis and the slave chassis communicate via a virtual switch link according to a virtual switch link protocol.
