Abstract:
An overhead beam assembly of a concrete forming system. A wall-mounted self-climbing hoist is releasably secured to a wall section. An overhead beam assembly of a plurality of beam sections is supported on the hoist by columns. The overhead beam assembly includes a plurality of hubs that interconnect the beam sections to present a planar top surface and an assembly that is only as thick as a singly beam section. The novel overhead beam assembly has a substantially flat top surface and a single beam thickness.
Abstract:
A metal reshore post for concrete forming systems is described. The reshore post includes an end plate to which is releasably attached a leaf spring. Clips formed in the leaf spring engage corresponding notches in the end plate. The spring retains the reshore post in its upright position during installation and prevents the reshore post from falling over upon release of the load.
Abstract:
A load release pin for concrete forming apparatus is disclosed. The pin supports the concrete forming apparatus and any plastic concrete during forming of a concrete structure. After the concrete has set sufficiently, the pin is displaced to release the load on the forming apparatus. The pin has an asymmetric shape that prevents it from being used in an incorrect orientation. In addition, the pin provides sufficient strength to safely support the forming apparatus and any plastic concrete even if it is mistakenly inserted in the displaced position.
Abstract:
A method of assembling a metal shore post of a concrete forming assembly is disclosed. An outer telescoping tube is provided that has a main section with a first inside diameter and top portion with a section having a second inside diameter reduced relative to the first inside diameter of the outer tube. An inner telescoping tube is inserted for telescopic movement inside the outer tube. After assembly, a pair of pistons are inserted through access holes in the outer tube to provide a crushing force to the inner tube deforming it to create a region of increased diameter that is greater than that of the reduced diameter section but not so large as to prevent telescopic movement of the inner tube inside the outer tube. The increased dimension region thereby prevents accidental separation of the inner tube from the assembly.
Abstract:
A metal secondary beam used to support sheathing in concrete forming apparatus has a support structure for a nailer that is substantially open to allow concrete bleed water, to readily drain away thereby preventing deterioration of the nailer due to extended contact of water with the nailer. In a preferred embodiment, the support structure is a series of bent tabs lanced in the beam member.
Abstract:
A stackable component for concrete forming systems is described. End plates are secured to opposite ends of a longitudinal element having a round profile that prevents stacking of the components. The end plates nest together and receive for retention the longitudinal element to permit orderly and stable stacking of the components.
Abstract:
A clamp for interconnecting two components of a concrete forming apparatus such as metal form panels. A pivoting jaw is mounted around a pivot axis defined by a wedge for pivotal movement into and out of clamping engagement with a fixed jaw. A tooth or projection on a jaw engages corresponding alignment openings in the two form components to position and then hold the form components in the desired relationship.
Abstract:
A corner form assembly for forming inside corners of concrete structures, including first form subassembly for forming a first surface of the concrete structure and a second form subassembly for forming a second surface of the concrete structure oriented at an angle less than 180° relative to the first surface. A corner form assembly is pivotally attached to the second form assembly for movement between a set position for forming the concrete structure and a folded position. The corner form assembly is releasably secured to the first form assembly when in the set position and is provided with a relief angle to permit folding of the second form assembly relative to the concrete structure.
