摘要: Polystyrene-phenolic foam composites and processes for their preparation are provided. The composites have very low density yet retain advantageous mechanical properties. The composites have excellent fire resistance properties and find application in the production of insulation panels.

摘要: Polystyrene-phenolic foam composites and precursor compositions comprising expandable polystyrene particles, phenolic resole resin, expandable thermoplastic microspheres, and acidic catalyst are disclosed. The composites exhibit excellent flame resistance properties and may be suitably prepared in standard expanded polystyrene processing equipment.
