Abstract:
Systems and methods for managing a sample preparation and analysis system based on detected unique sample identities and locations is described. A system embodiment includes, but is not limited to, a sample analysis information system communicatively connected with each of a sample data manager, a sample logging manager, and a sample preparation system, wherein the sample data manager stores on the sample analysis information system a sample type with a sample type protocol for execution by the sample preparation system, the sample logging manager assigns the sample type with a unique identifier positioned on a sample container, and the sample preparation system includes an identifier capture device to identify the unique identifier, access the sample type protocol from the sample analysis information system, and execute the sample type protocol responsive to a queue associated with a sample order assigned to the sample type via the sample data manager.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and computer programs are presented for recommending new connections based on profile similarity and existing interconnections within a social network. One method includes an operation for detecting a request for new connections for a member of the social network, where the profile of the member includes values for certain attributes. Additionally, the method includes operations for identifying members that have at least one equal attribute to the attributes of the member, and for calculating a connection score for each identified member based on the respective values of the identified members attributes. Members are selected from the identified members based on the connection scores, and a ranking score for each selected member is obtained utilizing a machine learning algorithm that utilizes similarity analysis of the attributes to calculate the ranking score. The selected members are presented to the member as the possible new connections based on the ranking scores.

Abstract:
A user equipment comprises one or more antennas, a processor to communicate with an enhanced Node B (eNB) of an Internet Protocol (IP) based wireless communication network via the antenna; and a storage medium coupled to the processor. The storage medium having instructions stored thereon, that if executed by the processor, result in: collecting, at a first location, context information associated with a second location, wherein the user equipment is to roam from the first location to the second location; predicting the second location of the user equipment based on the context information; determining a set of one or more candidate frequency bands relating to the second location; and performing, at the second location, an initial cell scan based on the set of one or more candidate frequency bands to search for a frequency band that is supported by the user equipment, in response that the user equipment roams to the second location.

Abstract:
Techniques for providing group discounts are described. A group discount package is configured by associating a plurality of different items with the package, associating a discount price with each item, and associating a threshold value with at least one item. One or more actions that have corresponding threshold values may also be associated with the package. The group discount package may be offered by enabling users to request to purchase items associated with the package. Each user may request to purchase one or more of the items associated with the package at the associated discount price. Furthermore, the users may be enabled to perform any actions associated with the package. A deal with the package is confirmed when each associated threshold value is met.
Abstract:
In a distributed caching system, a Web server may receive, from a user device, a request for a Web service. The Web server may parse the request to identify a cookie included in the request and determine whether the cookie includes allocation information. The allocation information may indicate multiple cache servers temporally store certain data associated with the Web service. The Web server may request for the certain data from the cache servers and then transmit the certain data to the user device. If one of the cache servers fails to respond to the request, the Web server may reallocate the cached data and update the cookie by overwriting the allocation information stored in the cookie.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to methods and compositions for detecting, evaluating, and/or mapping 5 methyl-modified and/or 5-hydroxylmethyl-modified cytosine bases within a nucleic acid molecule. In certain aspects the methods further comprise modifying 5hmC with a first detectable label or a first detectable functional group. In certain aspects a converted or modified 5-methylcytosine is labeled with a second detectable label. The method can also include a step of detecting differential labeling of the nucleic acid with the first and second label. The label or detectable label can be a fluorescent radioactive, enzymatic, electrochemical, or colorimetric label. In certain aspects the hydroxyl group of a modified 5mC is further converted to a functional group selected from an aldehyde or carboxyl group, which may in turn be coupled to a label or detectable label. The functional group, e.g., hydroxyl group, of modified 5mC can be further modified using an enzymatic method, such as modification by alcohol dehydrogenase. The functional group, e.g., hydroxyl group, of modified 5mC can be further modified using a chemical method, such as modification by pyridinium chlorochromate (PCC). In certain aspects 5hmC, endogenous and/or modified, is glucosylated. The glucosylated 5hmC (5gmC) can comprise a first, second, and or third label, or more. In certain aspects the label is fluorescent, radioactive, enzymatic, electrochemical, or colorimetric.
Abstract:
A method for minimizing call drops during a serving cell change is disclosed. A first measurement report message is received from a user equipment (UE) requesting to change an active set of the UE. A second measurement report message is received from the UE indicating a change of a best cell and requesting a change of a serving cell to a target cell. The second measurement report message is processed before the first measurement report message is completely processed.
