Abstract:
There is herein described a phosphor composition for converting the light emitted from LED dies. The phosphor composition has an emission dominant wavelength responsive to an excitation dominant wavelength. The phosphor composition includes a first phosphor, a second phosphor and a third phosphor. The phosphor composition has a first weight ratio of the first phosphor and the second phosphor, and a second weight ratio of the second phosphor and the third phosphor. The first and second weight ratios are arranged so that the emission dominant wavelength increases as the excitation dominant wavelength increases.
Abstract:
A method for measuring a mechanical property of a subject includes using an ultrasound transducer to apply ultrasonic vibration pulses to a location in a subject in order to induce shear waves at multiple prescribed orthogonal frequencies in the subject. The ultrasound transducer is directed by an excitation signal that is composed of multiple orthogonal basis functions, each having a given frequency component corresponding to the prescribed orthogonal frequencies. The power level of each orthogonal basis function is independently adjustable. The excitation signal can be sparsely sampled, or portions of the excitation signal can be removed in order to improve tissue vibration and to provide for the interleaving ultrasonic vibration and detection pulses. Ultrasonic detection pulses are applied to at least one motion detection point, from which echo signals are received. From the received echo signals, a motion signal is determined, from which mechanical properties of the subject are calculated.
Abstract:
There is described a sealing composition for sealing aluminum nitride and aluminum oxynitride ceramics comprising: a mixture of SiO 2 , at least one other metal oxide, and a silicon additive comprising at least one of silicon metal or a silicide. The silicon additive acts to suppress the formation of nitrogen bubbles during the sealing of articles comprised of aluminum nitride or aluminum oxynitride ceramics, e.g., as in the case of a ceramic discharge vessel for a high intensity discharge lamp.
Abstract:
A method for measuring a mechanical property of a subject includes using an ultrasonic transducer to apply ultrasonic vibration pulses to a vibration origin in the subject in an on-off time sequence in order to impart a harmonic motion at a prescribed frequency to the subject, and when the vibration pulses are off, preferably using the same transducer to apply ultrasonic detection pulses to a motion detection point and to receive echo signals therefrom in order to sense the harmonic motion on the subject at the motion detection point The ultrasonic detection pulses are interspersed with the vibration pulses and can be applied in a non-uniform manner From the received ultrasonic echo signals, a harmonic signal is detected and a characteristic such as amplitude or phase of the detected harmonic signal is calculated using a Kalman filter or interpolation.
Abstract:
A piezoelectric power generator (100), capable of harvesting energy from environmental vibration with lower frequency, includes a dielectric frame (110) supporting a piezoelectric panel (125). The piezoelectric panel includes an upper electrode and a piezoelectric layer (115) formed over a lower electrode and a dielectric layer and an end mass (130) formed on the piezoelectric layer. The end mass provides weight to cause the piezoelectric panel to move (vibrate) within the frame and causes the generation of electrical power. The generator is preferably formed by a MEMS process.
Abstract:
The preferred embodiments generally relate to methods and compositions that affect the GTP-binding activity of members of the Rho family GTPases, preferably Rac (Rac1, Rac2 and/or Rac3), such compositions include compounds that modulate the GTP/GDP exchange activity, along with uses for the compounds including screening for compounds which recognize Rac GTPase, and methods of treating pathological conditions associated or related to a Rho family GTPase, including Rac. The preferred embodiments also relate to methods of using such compounds, or derivatives thereof, e.g. , in therapeutics, diagnostics, and as research tools.

Abstract:
Methods, compositions and kits are disclosed. The methods are directed to determining the presence of entactogen analytes such as, for example, 3,4-methylenedioxamphetamine (MDA), 3,4-methylenedioxy-methamphetamine (MDMA), 3,4-methylenedioxy-ethylamphetamine (MDEA) and 4-hydroxy-3-methoxy-methamphetamine (HMMA). The method comprises providing in combination in a medium (i) a sample suspected of containing the compound and (ii) an antibody raised against a compound of Formula I that comprises a protein. The medium is examined for the presence a complex comprising the compound and the antibody where the presence of such as complex indicates the presence of the compound in the sample. In one aspect of the above embodiment, the combination further comprises a label conjugate of the compound Formula I.
Abstract:
Compositions are disclosed for releasing an FKBP-binding immunosuppressant drug from endogenous binding substances in a sample suspected of containing the FKBP-binding immunosuppressant drug. The compositions include sirolimus derivatives that are modified with a bulky organic radical in the triene portion of the sirolimus molecule. The compositions may be employed in conjunction with assays for an FKBP-binding immunosuppressant drug in a sample suspected of containing the drug.
