The present invention provides methods, apparatuses, and a computer program product for enhancements to support Mobility Load Balancing for Relay. The present invention discloses receiving a message including first parameters regarding a link between a relay entity and a base station entity, calculating second parameters regarding the link between the relay entity and the base station entity, placing the calculated second parameters into the message, and forwarding the message including the first and second parameters to nodes that are connected to the base station.
Abstract:
A network receives from a user equipment UE information about a measurement configuration used to log test measurements; and the network uses the received information to determine further signaling to send to the UE concerning further test measurements. The network can compare the received measurement configuration to a measurement configuration for the further test measurements; and if the same can merely indicate to the UE to continue using the same configuration else if different can indicate to the UE the new configuration to use for the further measurements. The UE logs the test measurements taken in the IDLE mode. After exiting the IDLE mode it sends to the network with which it connects information about the measurement configuration used to collect the measurements. The information can be sent in a RRC Connection Setup Complete message along with an availability indictor that the logged test measurements are available.

It is described a method for performing an update of a closed subscriber group being assigned to a femto access point (210) of a telecommunication network, wherein the femto access point (210) is coupled to a femto access point management system (232). The method comprises (a) receiving by the femto access point management system (232) an update request for updating the closed subscriber group, (b) transmitting from the femto access point management system (232) an authorization request for updating the closed subscriber group to an authentication, authorization and accounting server (252, 254) or to a data base, (c) receiving by the femto access point management system (232) an authorization message for updating the closed subscriber group from the authentication, authorization and accounting server (252, 254) or from a data base, and (d) informing a mobile station (220) being connected to the femto access point (210) or to a macro base station (234) of the telecommunication network about a successful update of the closed subscriber group. It is further described a femto access point management system (232) for managing at least one femto access point (210).
Abstract:
This invention is concerned with a system and some methods to maintain the continuity of online billing through a proxy server as an anchor in which it forwards the information between the prepaying client port and the prepaying server through the proxy server. The method includes the following steps : a) When the user moves, it will relocate the prepaying client port between the old prepaying client port and the new one. It will also recertify the mobile station in the new prepaying port. b) After the successful recertif ication, the old online billing information in the context will be transferred from the old prepaying client port to the new one. c) After the transfer, the old prepaying client port will send the request message of credit-controlling which instructs the talk state to the proxy server, and then the prepaying agent will request quota to the prepaying server through the new prepaying port. Thus, it will simplify the structure of online billing through the proxy server.

There are provided measures for enhanced admission control in relay-enhanced access networks, said measures exemplarily comprising receipt of a bearer admission request of at least one bearer in a relay-enhanced access network, said at least one bearer consisting of a bearer on an access link between a user equipment and a relay node and a bearer on a backhaul link between said relay node and a base station, and execution of a combined bearer admission control of said at least one bearer at one of said relay node and said base station, including a bearer admission control on the access link and a bearer admission control on the backhaul link. Said measures may exemplarily be applied for enhancing admission control in relay-enhanced LTE and LTE-Advanced access networks.

According Io one example embodiment, a method may include determining whether each of a plurality of target base stations is capable of providing a fast ranging opportunity to a mobile station served by the serving base station, and, for each of the plurality of target base stations which is capable of providing the fast ranging opportunity to the mobile station, determining an action time after which the target base station can send an uplink map to the mobile station, the uplink map indicating when the mobile station should send a fast ranging request. The method may also include sending a handover message to the mobile station, the handover message indicating whether each of the plurality of target base stations is capable of providing the fast ranging opportunity to the mobile station and, for each of the plurality of target base stations which is capable of providing the fast ranging opportunity to the mobile station, indicating the action time after which the target base station can send the uplink map to the mobile station.

In various embodiments, the method may include receiving, from the peer network entity, a set of parameters indicating at least one networking capability that may be employed by the peer network entity to perform the networking function. In some embodiments, the method may include determining if at least one networking capability may be employed by both the first network entity and peer network entity to perform the networking function. In one embodiment, the method may include selecting at least one networking capability to employ to perform the networking function. In various embodiments, the method may include transmitting the selected networking capability to the peer network entity. In some embodiments, the method may include performing the network function in partnership with the peer network entity by employing the selected networking capability.
