    Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a rotatable fluent storage shelf and a robot system. The rotatable fluent storage shelf comprises a fluent storage assembly comprising at least one inclined storage rack adapted to support the objects and each comprising: a loading port and a picking port arranged on opposite ends of the at least one inclined storage rack in an inclined direction; and a sliding mechanism arranged between the loading port and the picking port and configured to reduce a friction between the at least one inclined storage rack and the objects to enable the objects to move from the loading port to the picking port by gravity; and a rotation assembly coupled to the fluent storage assembly and adapted to drive the at least one inclined storage rack to rotate about a longitudinal axis of the fluent storage assembly. With the rotatable fluent shelf according to embodiments of the present disclosure, positions of the loading port and the picking port can be adjusted or interchanged by rotating the inclined storage rack about the longitudinal axis. As a result, an operator can load and/or pick objects more flexibly. In addition, the flexible operation can reduce operating space, and thus save floor space such as in storage locations.

    Abstract: A system (1) for diluting a sample and a corresponding method are provided. The system (1) comprises a first container (10) configured to contain the sample; a second container (20) arranged adjacent to the first container (10) and configured to contain a diluent; a third container (60) configured to receive the sample and the diluent to dilute the sample; a first support (40) configured to hold at least one pipette (42); and a robot (30) comprising a first arm (32) and a second arm (34), the first arm (32) and the second arm (34) being configured to operate the pipette (42) to transfer the sample from the first container (10) to the third container (60) or transfer the diluent from the second container (20) to the third container (60).The dilution of the sample can be carried out automatically by means of the robot (30) without human intervention.

    Abstract: Example embodiments of the present application disclose an apparatus, a system and a method for handling petri dishes. The apparatus comprises a first bracket, a second bracket, a first supporting element, a sucking disc and a second supporting element. The first bracket is configured to store a first set of petri dishes arranged in a stack. The second bracket is configured to store a second set of petri dishes arranged in a stack. The first supporting element is arranged below the first bracket and configured to be driven by a first cylinder to move towards the first bracket along a first direction and support a first petri dish of the first set of petri dishes, the first petri dish comprising a dish body and a lid covering the dish body. The sucking disc is configured to suck the lid such that the dish body grasped by a robot can be separated from the lid and transferred to a platform to receive a fluid and can be mounted onto the lid after receiving the fluid. The second supporting element is arranged below the second bracket and configured to be driven by a second cylinder to move towards the second bracket along a second direction, the second supporting element being configured to support the first petri dish after receiving the fluid and place the first petri dish into the second bracket. According to the example embodiments, the handling of the petri dishes can be carried out automatically and efficiently. The system comprises the apparatus and a robot comprising an arm configured to move and handle the first petri dish.
