Abstract: A method for synchronous time division switch is provided by the present invent, and the said method includes the following steps: with the transmission time of single byte as an unit, the time for receiving and transmitting each Ethernet frame of fixed length in the Ethernet port is divided respectively to input slots and output slots, and the input slots and output slots are numbered respectively in turn; the data is received circularly according to the number of input slots through the Ethernet port; the data received in each input slot is interchanged to the corresponding output slot; according to the number of output slots, the data is transmitted circularly through the Ethernet port. An equipment for synchronous time division switch and two kinds of equipment for the Ethernet switch are also provided by the present invent. By using the method for synchronous time division switch in the present invent and making synchronous time division switch in the Ethernet, the cost of synchronous time division switch will be depressed.

Abstract: A method for implementing on-ring process and off-ring process of RPR ringnet which is compatible with the layer 2 and the layer 3. The method for implementing off-ring process includes that the RPR frame is reassembled to the Ethernet data frame according to the forwarding mode of the RPR data frame, and the learning for the correspondence of the source host address and the RPR node address is implemented according to the Flooding flag and the forwarding mode of the RPR data frame. There is also a data forwarding method of RPR dual-adscription network and the network devices implementing the on-ring process and the off-ring process.

The invention reaches the arm, by above described apparatus and method, that one or a few high rate uplink interfaces can respond to low rate downlink physical interfaces. An apparatus is for series multiplexing in the physical layer of the Ethernet and the method thereof.
