Abstract: A wetness sensor includes a substrate that carries a tuned RF circuit. The circuit includes a conductive pattern applied to the substrate, a capacitor, and a jumper all disposed on a same side of the substrate. The conductive pattern includes an inductive coil, and an inner and outer terminus. The jumper electrically couples the inner terminus to the outer terminus. The jumper also includes a frangible link which, when contacted by a target fluid, produces a drastic change in the operation of the RF circuit. The drastic change can be interpreted by a remote reader as a "wet" condition. Contact of the frangible link by the target fluid may change the impedance or resistance of the RF circuit by at least a factor of 5, 10, 100, or more, and/or may cause the frangible link to disintegrate to produce an open circuit, and/or may substantially render the RF circuit inoperative.

Abstract: A method and system for providing stationary asset information. A method includes receiving a request from a user for information related to stationary assets in a geographic area, collecting information related to stationary assets in the geographic area from at least one entity, converting the information and providing the converted information to the user. A system includes a first computer arranged to support an electronic user interface, wherein a user can request information related to stationary assets in a geographic area through the electronic user interface; and between the second computer and at least one entity. The second computer is arranged to collect information related to stationary assets in the geographic area from the entity. The information may be collected from a plurality of entities and may relate to assets located above or underground.

Abstract: One exemplary electrically conductive, RFID-enabled signage includes (1) an electrically conductive article including an opening and (2) an assembled device that is coupled to the electrically conductive article to provide RFID functionality to the electrically conductive article. One exemplary kit includes (1) an RFID IC arrangement including conductive leads adjacent to an integrated circuit; (2) an insert attached to the RFID IC arrangement; and (3) an attachment device capable of attaching the RFID IC arrangement-insert combination to an electrically conductive signage such that the RFID IC arrangement is positioned to span at least a portion of an opening in the signage and to electrically couple the integrated circuit to the electrically conductive signage. One exemplary method involves providing an assembled device including and RFID IC arrangement and an insert and coupling the assembled device with an electrically conductive signage.
