Abstract:
An accelerator composition for the curing of unsaturated maleic, allylic, vinylic and epoxy-type polyester resins is disclosed. The accelerator composition includes a complex of a salt of a metal selected from lithium, copper, manganese, magnesium, vanadium, iron and cobalt, with an oxygen-containing compound which is capable of forming a complex with the metal salt and includes at least one functional group selected from aldehyde, ketone, ether, ester and alcohol. Also disclosed are a curable resin composition including the foregoing accelerators and a curing process employing these accelerators.
Abstract:
Accelerator compositions for the curing of unsaturated maleic, vinylic, allylic and epoxy-type polyesters, are disclosed. The accelerator compositions comprise a complex of a salt of a metal selected from lithium, vanadium, copper, nickel, magnesium, iron and cobalt, and a nitrogen-containing compound capable of forming a complex with these metal salts and being selected from ammonia, ammonium salts, amines, amides, heterocyclic nitrogen compounds and their adducts with anhydrides and epoxides. Also disclosed are a curable composition comprising resin and the accelerator composition of the invention and a curing process carried out in the presence of an accelerator composition of the invention.
Abstract:
Accelerator compositions for the free radical polymerization of unsaturated polyesters and for the curing of unsaturated polyesters and polyurethanes are disclosed. More particularly, use is made of complexes of thiolic compounds with metal salts as the accelerators. In more preferred embodiments, the accelerators also include oxygen-containing compounds or phosphorus-containing compounds. Also disclosed are curable resin compositions comprising these accelerators and polymerization and curing processes employing these accelerators.
Abstract:
Epoxy functional copolymers of a higher alpha -olefin, and an unsaturated dicarboxylic acid ester formed by copolymerization of olefin, acid ester and ethylenically unsaturated glycidyl compound can be used to form nitrogen, oxygen, phosphorus and/or sulfur-containing lubricant additives by reaction of the epoxy functionality in such a copolymer with glycidyl-reactive compounds containing nitrogen, oxygen, phosphorus and/or sulfur atoms. Alternatively, the copolymerization reaction can utilize the olefin, unsaturated acid ester, and an ethylenically unsaturated compound containing the nitrogen, phosphorus and/or sulfur atom, which compound is formed by reaction of ethylenically unsaturated glycidyl compound and an epoxy-reactive nitrogen, phosphorus, and/or sulfur-containing compound.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a peptide or fragment thereof which is immunochemically reactive with Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) antibodies. A new monoclonal antibody directed to said peptide or fragment thereof is also part of the invention. The invention also relates to a method for the detection of EBV or anti-EBV antibodies in a test fluid and also to an immunochemical reagent comprising a peptide, a fragment or a polypeptide according to the invention and a test kit to be used when applying the said detection methods. Detection of EBV in a test fluid or tissue specimen using antibodies, monoclonal and polyclonal, directed to the said peptide, which have the characteristics of detecting both native and denatured intact, functional EBNA-1 protein is also part of said invention.
Abstract:
The present invention is concerned with a Feline herpesvirus (FHV) mutant comprising a heterologous gene introduced into a section of the FHV genome. The invention also relates to a vector vaccine comprising such an FHV mutant which expresses a heterologous polypeptide derived from a feline pathogen and induces an adequate immune response in an inoculated host against both FHV and the feline pathogen.
Abstract:
Process for removing bottoms or isolating useful products from a liquid mixture which in addition to, e.g., water contains solid matter, in which process the mixture is passed through a packed filter bed in a vessel, characterized in that the filter bed is composed of bottoms and useful products-absorbing filter particles and situated in such a space that, when the greater part of any present solid matter or the like is passed through it, expansion or fluidisation of the filter bed may occur as the pressure in it increases during operation.
Abstract:
Polyketones can be formed from carbon monoxide and at least one olefin by using, as a catalytic complex, a catalyst which comprises a Group VIII metal, an anion of an acid having a pKa of less than about four, and a tin tetradentate phosphine ligand, preferably of the formula Sn(RPR'2)4 where R is methylene and R' is phenyl.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a new receptor for gonadotropins, amino acid sequences of said receptor, nucleic acid sequences coding for said receptor, recombinant hosts comprising such a nucleic acid as well as screening assays using said receptor and ligands such as antibodies for that receptor. In a more preferred embodiment the invention provides antibodies raised against the human FSH receptor. The compounds and methods of the invention will find their use in the field of reproductive medicine, particularly human reproductive medicines.
Abstract:
A method for in vivo targeting a functional moiety in a patient by administering a targeting moiety coupled to an affinity component, wherein the targeting moiety has affinity for binding sites in a target area, and administering a binding partner to the affinity component coupled to a functional moiety to localize the functional moiety in the target area. Preferably the targeting moiety is an antibody and the functional moiety is a radiometal when performing in vivo imaging or therapy. The affinity component may be a novel methotrexate analog.
